Care to explain how?

Take last night for example, how did she show personality and entertain us on disco week?

I agree. Disco week should have been about camp fun glitterball sequinned partying not funeral dirges for angst ridden depressives.

They've wasted Emily imo, I liked her before lives and thought she was the girl with potential. They've made her someone who does nothing but dull John lewisified versions of songs with the heart ripped out of them and it's become tedious

I thought she sang the song quite well, but she was just so bland and boring (to be fair the song itself doesn't help).

Agree, she wasn't great, but in her defence It's Simon Cowell who really is to blame by making her into this dreary lacklustre performer with the songs he has given her.

I'm glad she spoke up and agreed with the other 3 judges, as they said what had to be said. Let's hope Cowell finally listens and takes note.

Maybe Simon is setting her up to fail. If she is in the bottom two with her boyfriend he would see this as "good" tv.

Emily worst of the night, don't think so. That honour - in this order - goes to, Honey G, 5AM, Sam and Matt and Ryan.

5 After Midnight didn't sound that good when singing together. They're pretty good when it comes to dancing and enthusiasm though.

Last nights performance was bland and boring.

If I remember correctly that song has got quite a few acts into the bottom 2 before

Honey G's a given as the worst. But Emily and Matt were the other bad ones for me. And all three will probably avoid the bottom three. Yay.

BIB, seriously who cares if they sung it Disco or not? The main thing is did they sing well? Emily not so much, Sam however did her best vocal yet and you'd rather lose her over an act on the night that did a poor karaoke version of a Disco song?

I really don't understand this logic that people are using around here.

It's nothing to do with logic, it's to do with opinion.

Both Sam and Emily were very poor last night IMO, the difference is Emily has put in a few decent performances over the series whereas Sam has been awful since the lives started.

If they are both in the bottom 2 tonight Sam should go IMO

BIB, I normally prefer Emily to Matt, but come on she weren't better than him this week imo.

And Emily certainly wasn't better than the other two in the BIB, I know there's an agenda going on to single certain acts out no matter how they perform (it happens every year) but it shouldn't distort people's opinions about an individual night which I feel it has got to that point and that's why we get dodgy voting going on in the second half of the competition every single year.

Emily was poor but 5am was the worst , they took the p**s turning up and doing a dance routing but couldn't be arsed with singing most of their song , and the first lad singing was laughably

Matt mimed, that makes him worse automatically. Pretty sure all of the girls sang live. Clearly the producers not taking any chances with their favourites.

Out of the proper contestants she was very near if not the worst last night. Her vocals were dodgy all the way through - lots of off notes and her voice didn't carry as it needed to, but drowned in the noise into a near whisper at times when it needed to have some oomph.

It's hardly even worth mentioning Honey G as she seems to be in a different competition entirely, with its own set of rules and standards that are vastly different from the 'actual' X Factor.

This is the 13th series - the format really should be common knowledge by now.

And she gave her weakest performance, winding up in the bottom three. Boo Hiss, Mr Cowell - that really showed him.
