She's actually really good. It's not her fault some people don't understand her talent. It's not all about who can scream the loudest. Emily can captivate an entire audience with her voice and artistry alone.

I can't work out with your two separate threads about Emily, saying more or less the same thing, whether you're taking the mick, or just very young.

In my opinion, she started out ok and I quite liked her. However, now I just find her incredibly boring. I detest slowed down versions of up tempo songs and her version of "wishing on a star" last night was just plain awful.

She's just annoying, really hate that stupid giggly school girl laugh she has.

Shes decent its just Cowell keeps giving her songs that don't suit her. Last nights performance was depressing considering it was meant to be a re run of the disco week from the 2013 series. Not enough up tempo or anything about the song, just not her. I keep saying give her back the guitar, thats her, not this rubbish.

This is a discussion forum, people won't always have the same opinions. If someone thinks a performance was bad they are allowed to express that opinion.

I don't think anyone's 'hating on her'. She would be one of my favourites and I definitely much prefer her style to any of the usual X factor contestants with their dreary Leona/Whitney style belting. Although I get why those types are popular and yes they do have amazingly strong voices they aren't my cup of tea. I find them dull and dated. Emily I like.

In the early auditions with her guitar she was fantastic so I do support her BUT there's no getting away from the fact that in the lives they have no idea what to do with her. Her performances have been underwhelming at best and last night it was just plain bad. She's had one good week in lives with Creep.

Really like her but she has been showcased remarkably badly. Its not personal.

She's just not really fit for X Factor, as the show doesn't want to divert from mainstream pop, and Emily is way more suited to folk or country, she is not a pop artist.

After the show she has a better chance at a career than most of them though, if she sticks to her own genre and doesn't try to go mainstream.

Yes we get it you like Emily, deal with it some people like and some people don't

She knows what show she is on I'm pretty sure

When you can learn grammar maybe people will listen to your childish rant. "Stop hating on" - wtf does that mean? The "on" is superfluous (look it up)

She is really good but the show is swallowing her.

I like her. She's one of the only ones I listen to after the show on Spotify this year. I do hope she gets the chance to do something uptempo soon, though.

Reminder of her 6 chair challenge the year that she didn't get through: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vj7lIrmWa5U - I think her voice has improved a lot since then but would be nice to see this kind of performance again.

My opinion on Emily has really changed, going into live shows she was definitely in my top 4 to win. However after week 3 she dropped in my ranking as her performances are the same each week:

Week 1 - She sung Closer by Chainsmokers, when I heard Emily was doing this song I really thought she could smash it, but for me it's one of her weaker performances, but I took into account the last minute song change and week 1 nerves so I let it slide and hoped she be better week 2.

Week 2 - She sung Stop! in the name of Love by The Surpremes, I loved this performance it was so much better than week 1, and I liked how she flipped the song.

Week 3 - She sung How Will I Know by Whitney Houston, however IMO she did the Sam Smith version. When I heard she was doing this song I knew straight away she would slow it down. This week was when my opinion changed on Emily as this was 3 weeks in a row all slow songs she needed to switch it up!

Week 4 - She sung Creep by Radiohead, she sung the song well but just like previous weeks the song didn't go anywhere it's all one level. I get some say her best performance but I found it dull and boring she just literally sat there and sung.

Week 5 - She sung What Makes You Beautful by One Direction, when I heard she was singing this song I thought finally an uptempo, how wrong was I. This week showed how limited Emily's voice is. She went for a big note about a minute and a half in and she couldn't get there so it went flat.

Week 6 - She sung Wishing on a Star by Rose Royce, Ohh dear! This performance was awful! I love this song and she literally killed it (in a bad way!). When she started I thought it could have been her best performance then it all went downhill. The soundtrack was drowning her the backing vocals outsung her and yet again she just stood there.

I understand Emily has her own style but the show is still making her change as if she had it her way she would have done some of her performances with her guitar. It's clear that she wants to do an uptempo song so why not let her, if she's doing so well in the votes then surely they can offer for her to take a risk at least once. If it don't pay off then they know to stick to what she's good at.

It just makes me think that Emily could be a target because surely researchers of the show come on threads like this to see negative comments so they know what people are saying about Emily so keeping her in her box of just doing slow songs, people opinions will change as they will start to get bored.

I think at first the wanted 5 After Midnight in the final and saw Honey G was a threat to them so they tried to slowly take her down but it hasn't work it made her more of a favourite to win so I think now they are after Emily. She is probably the biggest threat to Matt so they want her out of the way. Also that then means 5 After Midnight could make the final.

"Hating on her " - isn't that an American term ? anyway , I don't think anyone is .It's just that last night she was drab and lacklustre ,and the song choice was poor.

She was woeful last night. Her voice completely lacked power, especially when she tried to raise the volume.

She has a thin, weak voice. I'm happy to continue to misunderstand her "talent".

I like Emily's style of Music, it's just sadly as you've said she's not delivered at the lives (even with Creep imo) and as you've said the song choices for her have been underwhelming at best.

Emily is a target for one reason only....to orchestrate the drama of a Ryan v Emily sing off!! Once this has happened and Ryan leaves she will either fade away or rise like a phoenix from the ashes....
Maybe once the dramatic sing off has happened they might work with her and give her her guitar back or some up tempo stuff!!

I agree that it's wrong to hate someone who's just out there performing some songs. How do you know that they're trying to orchestrate a Ryan v Emily sing off? Did they tell you? If there isn't that sing off, will you admit that the above state is verified as false?

What you don't think the XF producers would want this???? Of course they do! Doesn't take Einstein to work it out!

But like everything else all they can do is their best to orchestrate this if it doesn't happen it's because they couldn't quite manage it nothing more!

There is literally not even a single material piece of evidence to suggest they orchestrate the outcome. We'll see. I'm thinking it's Ryan and Sam.
