Did Darcey want placards for Danny and Oti's AT?

Only I think it would have interfered with the dancing if they'd had sandwich boards narrating the story for her. Or maybe a megaphone saying this is the bit at the start when we're happy, this is the bit when he hears it through the grapevine that she's going off with another bloke (she knew before) and right about here is when he's feeling that though a man ain't supposed to cry dammit all he's flippin' upset and angry that she couldn't tell her himself and as we know he had to hear it through the flippin' grapevine.
I mean the best dances are always over in a flash like that one was but how much more storytelling did she want? And there were moments of stillness...not as in the Mark and Karen one but this was a different story.

I thought it was amazing...just a wow dance that had me from being prone on my sofa enjoying it to sitting up fast with my eyeballs well and truly focused but needing to rewatch afterwards to see the leg action again and again. Fantabulous. May not be to all tastes which is fine... it was definitely to mine...but the storytelling was all there. Anyway very glad Len and Bruno got it.

I wonder if the next item of baggage Danny and Oti will be given will be a clutch bag as they are getting smaller?

One of the few dances that DIDN'T need subtitles.
I just wish they'd given them a slowed down moody version of Grapevine rather than a ultrafast Paso-fied version.

i thought the story telling was a bit excruciating actually, especially the mime with the phone at the start...

darcy didn't say she didn't understand it, she said she'd like to see the story more through the movement. she also called it 'exquisite'

I didn't like their dance at all.

As far as passion goes, it was less like a passionate tryst, but more like 'dogging' incident on a bonnet of a Ford Cortina.

I know I shouldn't laugh, but ....

Bruno got it; the story I meant and surprisingly Len as well.
It didn't fit into the typical interpretation of the AT that she expected so that's why it wasn't a 10 for her.

I didn't think the story was that clear from the start, + the ending was too abrupt imo

agree with Craig about A-frame lite but the footwork was AMAZING (had to rewind a few times to watch)

I think using the phone at the start - after they were walking along happily together - was the only way they could interpret the 'grapevine' into the dance. After that it told itself - imo.
The way 'he' got angrier and angrier toward the end was very well done.
I absolutely loved it. I thought they interpreted the music they were given very well. The leg movements were mesmerizing.

I'm impressed that anyone with a working Cortina can still get the girls, if only for 10 minutes

It may have had a story shown super I-max 3D with super dooper surround sound in epicscope, didn't make the dance a good AT. Super storytelling, lousy dance.

Me neither.

I was more perplexed my Craig's comments he slagged of most of it then said it was incredible. I think they judges all thought the dance was a bit fast and aggressive but it came down to whether they liked that style or not. I think Danny's dances can do with a softer slower touuch at times, i'm surprised they didn't mention this for their paso , or maybe they did and i've forgotten.

Danny 'hold-my-beer, this-is-gonna-be-great' Mac admitted on ITT a few days ago that he initially "flat-out refused to dance to that" (music track) when he was first told about it, but was eventually persuaded to back down & "give it a chance"...

Blimey! When you think what tunes some of the other, less-'fortunate' couples have been forced to dance to...!?!?

I think he should have stood his ground! I can just imagine Tess announcing:
Sadly, Danny won't be performing tonight, as he deemed the music chosen for his Argentine Tango to be unsuitable. But don't worry, folks under the official rules of Strictly, he automatically receives a bye to next week. Meanwhile, here's Judge Rinder dancing a Rumba to The Village People, and coming up later we've got Claudia & AJ dancing to "It's horrible been in love when you're eight and a half"...

I really enjoyed it and quite liked that there was a story to it.

It was very well danced, but there was just too much 'stuff' in there, it seemed a bit too frantic and unnecessary, especially that bit where there were loads of leg kicks that seemed to be more to show that they could do them than because it made for good choreography.

It was a pity, as I like them as a dance couple and after their paso I was really looking forward to their AT but I felt a bit let down as it would have been so much better with about 2/3 of the content and more space to let the story telling and dance ability shine through.

that part was really very authentic for an AT.

You know the dance they were dancing.

Shame that it LOOKED like they were doing ungainly kicking for some unfathomable reason then.

Poor Oti managed to look like a deranged insect on acid a few times.

I didn't see a story through the dance.

I saw him throwing the phone down and then them having some sort of weird fight.

I get that he must have heard some gossip about her, but that's only because I know the song.

the placard would probably say "Argentine Tango", but where was the friendly trucker to take him to it (out of Pasoville)?

I agree Miranda, all the SCD AT's are far too frantic and they seem to think by throwing everything into it bar the kitchen sink, will make for a more impressive AT . They're wrong . I would love just one couple to do the A frame and authentic AT walk and keep it simple .
