I think he's a great pro and choreographs well for his celebs and looks after them whilst pushing them. He is sooooo much better with the quiet ones who temper his enthusiasm.

Robin Windsor would have been perfect for this, makes me wonder why they got rid of him. He did well enough with his older partners Anita and Deborah.

I've always liked Kevin and agree with your comments, I wouldn't mind at all if Louise and Kevin won this year as he's got so close in the past three years and I think he'd be thrilled to finally win

good point, if I couldn't have Giovanni as my dance teacher, then I'd choose Kevin as I'd feel safe with him

Just realised what I said here! I'm not doing a James Jordan. I meant celeb of course!

I like Kevin . His choreography is never dull or boring .
Also , I like the fact that he doesn't rely on his good looks , because while he looks 'nice' he is not devastatingly handsome . So no flirting to camera and posing prettily from him , which leaves him free to focus on his partner and lets him be more of a pal/big brother rather than a potential love interest . (yes I know he's married but crap happens.Kristinacoughcough) .

much of the positive comments are fine and he is an entertainer
but
his performance as a dancer nowhere near as good as the best pro's, top half the problem lacks consistant shape in particular on his left side

If Saint Mary was on Strictly you can bet she would prove to be a surprise contestant who could rise to the occasion.

There would be no half baked dances and if she got to the final you can bet that her show dance would be the icing on the cake.

It would be good if he could get someone who is clearly going to be the weak-link; who starts off really badly, but improve week by week under Kevin's teaching. I think that unlike some of the other pros Kevin has the ability to teach and adapt to suit all capabilities so that even a really weak dancer can look respectable.

I think that Kevin is a really good teacher, to the extent that I doubt his detractors will ever accept that he's been given a 'duffer', because he'd probably get even the most un-handy celeb to at least week three or four!

How are you related to the Cliftons, OP? He genuinely makes my teeth itch - they all do. Fake humility, fake niceness, always have to be the centre of attention. No thanks.

He worked as a choreographer on the show before becoming a pro dancer. He and Anton are my favourites because of their enthusiasm and general cheerfulness. and love of dancing.

I like Kevin, i have commentated in this thread. I am not related to him He is not my Brother, Son, Uncle, Nephew or Pal. I just like him. You don't fair enough but don't assume you have to be related to him to actually create or post anything positive about him.

I like Kevin. I do think it's unfair to the other pros because of the number of good dancers he's had.

So, to start a positive thread about Kevin I have to be related to him? Seriously? This level of dislike you have for him seems worrying, yet you question my perfectly normal positive thread.

You'd think a fun, entertaining show like Strictly would get viewers into more positive mood.

Well seeing as he is very irritating and spotlight-stealing, I'm amazed anyone actually likes him. I'll just toddle back off to the "Not Appreciation" thread where we're allowed to dislike things.

I agree. It may be irrational but I can't stand him.

You're allowed to dislike things, and people are allowed to dislike your dislike.

You are allowed to dislike anywhere but expect to be challenged.

There is very little about him to dislike and he is no worse than some of the other pros.

There are currently 3-4 active threads on the front page filled with posts disliking Kevin and Cliftons. I don't think the disliking is limited to only not appreciation threads.

The horror that someone actually likes Kevin, how can that be?!?

Newsflash , there are actually still some genuinely humble people in the world . Even in the cut throat world of show business and dance . Kevin can be humble at times , but confident in other areas . He is a good mix of likeable traits .In my opinion .

Might be a good idea if that is the kind of ambiance you prefer .🙋

he always seems to get the best out of his partners and gets them to their full potential and doesn't seem to mess about and cover things up with them

Which is exactly what we are doing.

I've seen hoggers, pros acting like they've eaten twenty chocolate bars. Almost anyone I discuss SCD with, in the real world, thinks he's great. He's not my favourite pro and while I disliked him and Kellie as a partnership I don't find much to dislike about him personally.

You're completely entitled to your view of him. However I dislike him because I personally find him to be fake and obnoxious.

That's my view.

He may be a decent coach but I'd like to have seen him given someone like Judy Murray or ann Widdecombe to see just how good he is. He has never been given a poor dancer.
