What was your opinion on George Galloway as a housemate?
I've recently rewatched CBB4 again and I quite like him, bar his treatment of Jodie Marsh.

He was a brilliant housemate in his era apart from like you said his treatment of Jodie marsh .
However in this era he would not have lasted very long |

One of my favourite CBB HMs ever. I loved him and Pete Burns, the odd couple who got on surprisingly well. Both intelligent, sharp-witted, and articulate. I loved their late-night conversations. Those were the days.

Well he's quite genuine I think as he's the same whether he's on telly, on radio or in the House of Commons.......a complete so and so.

He could be a bit abrasive, if not down right nasty at times but his cat role play with Rula, will go down as one of the most memorable wtf moments in BB history. Legend!

He was an absolutely FANTASTIC! housemate to watch. But as grown man the way he acted in there was appauling! The way 1) he acted on Fight night, being in such a huff about not being able to vote, when it was his own fault for breaking rules, 2) the way he went on about Chantelle and Preston in the bankers task, enjoying the free food, he was like a baby. That being said though in my opinion he was one of the best Housemates ever, he could put up a fantastic argument, he wasn't one to be quiet about his opinions causing many a dramatic moment. And most of all as lulu g said his odd couple friendship with Pete and their attacks on Jodie, and Preston, Chantelle, Michael etc, may have been over the top but it was absolutely fantastic tv, and gave for me the best big brother series ever. He also threw himself into every task, fair play to him, how can we ever forget 'Let me be the cat!', his robotics dancing with Pete conveying bewilderment over a dog not coming to them
![]() ![]() , he was a seriously super housemate!

Don't think it enhanced even his political reputation.

I like him and I thought he was good on the show - but I thought at the time it was not a good idea and I think that seemed to be the case later. |

I seem to remember at the time, he said he did it, to get his political message across but BB edited it all out. So either BB lied to him, to get him in the house or George is telling porkies.
And I am sure he know that. |

Brilliant TV at the time and fair play to him, back in those days he was totally up for it (as were most of them) and gave it his all. We'll never see the like again (of that series and not just 'the cat' lol).
That said, I thought he was an odious man at many points...and I'll never forget him bowing and scraping to Jimmy Savile (as disturbing with what we know now as Barrymore's absolutely petrified look) and why - along with the nastiness, I can't rewatch. A hugely entertaining HM of his time, often for all the wrong reasons, back when CBB (or BB in general) was a proper show. |
