CUP OF TEAAA!

Movie songs have been really popular the last few years, so there is no excuse for cliche songs from the 80s/90s, but I'm not holding my breath.

Surely Emily has to cover an uptempo next week?

Any ideas?

I'd personally give her this

Matt Terry: Kiss From a Rose (Seal) from Batman Forever
Ryan Lawrie: The Power of Love (Huey Lewis & The News) from Back to the Future

Emily Middlemas: Kiss Me (Sixpence None Richer) from How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days

5 After Midnight: Happy (Pharrell Williams) from Despicable Me 2

Honey G: Lose Yourself (Eminem) from 8 Mile
Saara Aalto: Take My Breath Away (Berlin) from Top Gun

If Emily needs to go uptempo they could always give her Call Me (Blondie) from American Gigolo? Diana Vickers did decently with that in series 5.

Kiss Me for Emily could be a good shout, actually

Having originally thought of Still Falling For You for Emily, I've just had another look at the Bridget Jones's Baby soundtrack and I reckon Hold My Hand by Jess Glynne might be a better choice. Not quite as obvious a fit for Emily's voice but that's the point, plus it's uptempo and I think she could do it!

Really like the idea of 'All that jazz' for Saara. She would be fantastic and ooze personality and it would be entertaining.

Saara--To Sir With Love by Lulu (To Sir With Love)

Emily--I'm a Believer by Smash Mouth (Shrek)

Honey G--I Like to Move It by Sasha Baron Cohen (Madagascar)

5 AM--Baby, I'm a Star by Prince (Purple Rain)

Matt--Writing's on the Wall by Sam Smith (Spectre)

One more:

Ryan--Falling Slowly by Glenn Hansard (Once)

Alternate for Matt--Lost Stars by Adam Levine (Begin Again)

I think Gangstas Paradise or Lose Yourself for Honey G are good suggestions

I think, as someone else suggested, Saara could pull off a Bond theme as well. Either Licence To Kill or Nobody Does It Better (from The Spy Who Loved Me).

Honey G - I'm getting married in the morning (My Fair Lady)

Ryan - The Oompa Loompa song

5 After Midnight - A spoonful of sugar / Theme from Jaws mash up.

Saara - Under The Mango Tree (Doctor No)

Matt - Theme from Close encounters of the third kind / Hopelessly devoted you mash up.

Emily - A song from a scene where someone dies in their sickbed, probably of cancer, or Aids, sung slower than the original.

I was thinking the Fall out boy/Missy Elliott version from the new film but it would be pretty diffcult for her listening to it again as it actually requires vaguely competent rapping.

I think somebody will get a Bond theme, so Matt for Skyfall or Saara could do Goldeneye- Nobody does it better might suit Emily too.

I'd like Saara to do something stripped back to really show off her voice so I like the idea of Elastic Heart somebody mentioned

Something Disney might work for Saara too, she''s done a lot of Finnish dubs for various films but as Let it go didn't really connect I'd be wary of that. I think 5am would do a good job of I wanna be like you though. (Or Ryan for that matter)

Emily I find more difficult but could she cope with a Moulin Rogue number (I'm thinking Elephant love medley/Your Song) I really like the Rhythm of the night from that for up tempo but I don't think she could cope with it

I'd go with:

Matt Terry: Sky fall (From Skyfall)
Honey G: Ghost buster's (2016)
Emily Middlemas: Your Song (Moulin Rogue)
Saara Aalto: Elastic Heart (The Hunger Games)
Ryan: I wanna be like you (The Jungle Book)
5am: Happy (From Despicable Me 2)

If the next theme is movie week, there should be plenty of songs for Saara to blow the roof off the building.

Kiss me is a good call for Emily.

Also this one if you've seen American Pie you'll know:

Emily's a Folk singer though so I wouldn't personally give her High School Musical.

That song might not be bad for Matt though, although I reckon he might get one of Hairspray's songs.

I think they would give Saara 'for your eyes only' or 'live and let die' if she does bond...I still think she will sing 'my heart will go on' or ' i will always love you'...some poor sod will also get stitched with circle of life....probably Ryan

Sky Fall will be done by either Matt or Saara. (Hopefully the latter, although I don't think they would want to give her a song that would get votes).

Skyfall is actually a cursed song to sing, whoever sings it will either be in the bottom two, or third from bottom and will be a cert to go in there next week.

I think Saara's not a threat to Matt, 5 After Midnight and Ryan until she destroys Honey G. Of course, that's if they allow that to happen. Saara might go before Honey G if the producers, or Cowell, decides to play it totally safe. Saara is dynamite with the right song.

I don't really think I believe in that though. Pretty sure that was the case for 'I Have Nothing' until Alexandra sang it.
