I'm not a huge fan of Tess. But it's great to see a female presenting team. I see Tess as the Ernie Wise and Claudia as the Eric Morecambe. At their best it's like seeming a couple of mates messing around, with Tess as the slightly bossy 'big sisterly' one.

Tess is a fantastic presenter it's a difficult show to host, up to two hours twenty minutes then recording if a results show. She has an earpiece with editors instructions, and random things happening, celebrities talking longer etc.
I think the robotic comments are rude, and unless anyone here has hosted a live show for two hours are not legitimate. If anyone watches she is often running on and off the set. She has not morphed into Bruce, he did comedy, Claudia has taken this over. Some here have had a go at Tess, Len, Bruce etc, in fact anyone who is associated with SCD, but it tops the ratings so they are doing a lot right. People posting should remember she is a human being and has a life, and forget Newszoids parodies. . Many of us feel she is robotic. You disagree. This is a message board for debate. Nobody is being rude. As for her being a human being, what on earth is that about? Of course she's a human being and for all I know a very pleasant one BUT I am not asked to judge her on her housekeeping or her social life or her child rearing. She is a highly paid presenter on a top television show and it is reasonable for viewers to judge her performance. And that is just what I, and many others, will continue to do |

Look, if you're going to contribute to a message board, you can't expect to apply your own rules as to what people can or cannot say. If
Nothing on here has been really "rude," they are personal observations, it just makes me smile when some on here "get all sensitive" on behalf of someone on the telly, who wouldn't know them from Adam and probably couldn't care less about them. If another poster gets "personal" about you, that's the time when you can complain. People on TV expect some viewers to not like them, it goes with the territory. |

Just because you do not like her, you do not have to come back with a " like many others agree" to try to prop up your argument. The DS forums are negative, many lodgers notice it and move away due to the negativity here if a few. Anyone here knocking her down, should try it! Otherwise you have No reference point or measure. |

Yes this board is for debate, you feel your opinion is correct! But I am " allowed" to disagree.

But according to you anyone who disagrees with it is "just plain rude?" I had to smile at that. You're still trying to dictate what's said on a message board, when will you learn that it just doesn't work? Try scrolling down if there's opinion with which you don't agree, as you aren't going to change anyone's opinion by bangin' on about it and that applies to us all. By the way, I'd suggest there's as many negative comments about Tess on this board as there are positive ones. Sp Penelopesimpson suggesting "others agree" is a fact, not a prop. |

Tess is doing a fine job and Claudia is a good foil .
I was looking a clip of SCD recently when Bruce was in charge and it was cringeworthy . I mean the time he used to waste with his off timing non jokes was painful . Thank goodness we have none of that now and the show flows much more smoothly . |

Forsyth was long past his best but his jokes were preferable surely to mimicking the charges and terms for humour, is that the best they can do with the current pair.
Essentially, people are being told. "If you make a phone call, you'll have to pay for it." I don't blame the BBC for allowing them to take the **** out of it. By the way, it won't have been either of the presenters' decision to do it, (though it sounds like an idea from Claudia). It will be the producer's decision, because it's not an ad-lib, it's rehearsed. Much of the rubbish with which Bruce came out, was entirely his own, "he was blamed for it in the credits at the end of the programme." |

It always amuses me when someone on the TV gets criticised for certain aspects of their performance, a "loyal fan," blurts out, "If you think you can do it better, you try it."
What they fail to acknowledge, in this instance, is that Tess (unlike most DS contributors) is supposed to be a trained presenter of what is it, sixteen years TV experience?... and does pretty much naff-all other than Strictly and CIN. She's just one of the less than perfect elements of a great show. |

Strange contradiction for Tess to become more robotic. Becoming is a feature of life not inanimacy. So she can never arrive at robo-form and only becomes more human by trying.

I really don't mind Tess's blandness. The show is a mass of colour, sparkles and eccentricity. The judges (with the exception of Darcey) are OTT - the grouchy old man, the pantomime villain and the camp elf who can't sit still. Then we have the increasingly dotty Claudia hosting a rowdy party upstairs. Tess is the pretty but bland cement that holds it all together, talking kindly to the often emotional performers after their dance. Giving them a gentle pat on the back before Craig rips out their entrails on live TV.
Are there other more interesting presenters? Of course. Do I find Graham Norton more entertaining? Hell yes! But I don't need them. The place is already a seething, glittering, riot of tinsel, tears and tension, and Tess is a tall, calm comfort blanket in the middle of it all. Please don't take her away... |

The BBC have never had any intentions of firing her. She's doing an adequate job as far as they are concerned. and for many of us and I guess them too, "The devil you know....."
Tess is a great presenter, " if" you can't do it, you have no reference point, no measure. If you were sn expert you can be critical. As a layperson or a back seat driver, who doesn't know fully what she does, and only see the tip of the iceberg, you can't comment, with knowledge. Tess is also presenting Chikdren in need tonight, she does that very well, not adequate, and last night was shown on The One Show looking after a member of the Richshaw challenge with a disability, with empathy. If you haven't shadowed her, you do not know what she has to do, and the only comparison is as a viewer against other presenters. she is far better than. Phillip Schofield. Holly Willoughby Kay Burley. Piers Morgan. |

I would rate her slightly higher than her partner if only because she comes over as humble but she is very, very limited. |

Tess does get on my nerves constantly spewing out cliches. "But the rumba is soooooo hard for a male celebrity, honest!" Yes you'd know all about that wouldn't you Tess
12 years on the show and she doesn't seem to have picked up even the most basic of dancing knowledge.Claudia on the other hand is a breath of fresh air, everyone I know who watches the show adores her. She's perfect for a Saturday night entertainment show. |
