I Worry about Greg

He did well tonight and I'm pleased for him and Natalie, but I don't think he understands that dance isn't an exact science.

Of course you will improve if you put the time in,but there are so many other factors. The long jump is cut and dried - you either jump the furthest or you don't, and I get the impression that he feels as long as he gets the steps right, then he should win.

Sorry, Greg, but it doesn't work like that.

He's got more "personable" as the weeks have gone by, but you're right, he's no real flair for the dance and his performances look rather mechanical.

Which is fine, but it is his obvious frustration that extreme effort doesn't translate into a winning performance, that grates. He always looks astonished.

Greg in week 8 is a bit like one of those people promoted beyond their abilities. I wonder who is going to wake up first and realise being athletic and doing what you're told does not really make you a dancer... him or the public

greg is neither able nor engaging.

daisy is a better dancer and should have stayed.

Worry, he can count himself very lucky to have got this far . He should have been out last night and even before that but avoided the DO .

I agree that Daisy is a better natural dancer but thought her performance in the dance-off was lacklustre - in fact all her performances, apart from that waltz, have seemed 'underfunded'.

'Mechanical' is a good description of Greg's dancing, but I thought he deserved to stay in this week, based on the dance-off. He was lucky that the paso is a dance where strength and effort pay off.

yes, true. i always think like she's a bit too cool for school and doesn't completely invest in it, although thats also some of her appeal.

probably. but he'll go next week i think and on balance i'd rather have had a week more of daisy...

I thought the Paso he and Natalie did on Saturday was very good but there is no doubt that they upped their game a couple of notches for the dance off - and it showed very clearly.

It may have done Greg no harm at all to have the additional element of pressure of the dance off to focus his attention on the job in hand. It's one of the things that he does extremely well in his own event - often pulling out an exceptional (rather than just passble) jump on his last attempt. It may be the psychology which works best for him.

I like Greg a lot, but worry that it might have stopped being fun for him and become something quite stressful. Both he and Natalie have a do or die grim air about them at times, and talk of working really hard and trying their best way more than enjoying themselves. I hope he's having fun in rehearsals at least and not taking scores or comments too seriously.

I should have said what a lovely person Daisy seems to be

I'll stand up for Greg. He is likeable. His performances are very good for non-dancer after 8 weeks and in many previous series we'd have been very glad of a decent Paso from a male celeb. If you look for problems in his dancing then sure there are plenty of problems but when you look at the good things there are plenty of those too and we've seen him learn those things week on week. That makes me appreciate those good things more.

My concern for Greg is that if he can't win enough votes with that bullish Paso then he's probably going to have weaker dances in coming weeks that will land him in trouble again.

I really like Greg but I think he's taking the whole show far too seriously. He seems to think that hard work should equal higher scores and seemed really disappointed with them this week. He should try and enjoy himself more instead of focusing so much on the scores but I guess that's just in his nature.

Totally agree, I think Daisy should have been at Blackpool, she is a much better dancer than Greg even if he did have his best dance of the series. Not only did Daisy dance better I loved her smiley face every week and will miss her on the show. I have found Greg really boring at times!

Not in the dance off though and Len alluded to the fact that his heart wanted Daisy to stay as she is the better dancer, it couldn't vote for her as he knew in his head that Greg out danced her.

I think she gave up Tbh

I like that he cares and he obviously is a very hard worker as his dancing and acting has improved loads, more than I expected but he's still 1 of the worst dancers, must be really hard when you're used to being the best. Being in the dance off really seemed to hurt him, lucky he has such a supportive and nurturing partner as I think it's going to be a tough week.

Anastacia was similar, completely different person but she expected to be good too and actually became a much better dancer when she accepted it wasn't going to happen and just enjoyed her last 2 weeks.

I thought Greg deserved to stay, just. Luckily for him Daisy wasn't at her best but he is lucky to have got this far.

He's nothing like as bad as Pendleton ... and she got as far as Blackpool/Wembley. Watch her Paso and compare.
He was better than Daisy last night so no ... he shouldn't have gone before her and Ed of course is worse than all of them ... but it's a popularity contest as much as a dancing one.
I don't think he's under any illusions that he's the best or even good but he is loving it and doing his best.

He's a horrible dancer. His cha-cha was so bad. That's his only memorable dance for me. The rest are like "ok, so you can jump off things, we get it....." 😒

I cannot warm to him at all.

She might well have given up a bit; can't say I blame her on her third trip to the DO.

Greg was indeed lucky to end up in the DO with a dance that suits his limited range and dancing to appropriate music.

I seem to remember so many times when the judges turned the dance-off the way they wanted.
In the recent case of Peter Andre vs. Jamelia, it was a "more capable/consistent dancer" (according to the judges) who advanced to the next round.
This time, it is Greg. Why not the more talented dancer, i.e Daisy? Her musicality is much superior, and she can dance.
The dance-off is an excellent way to manipulate the results, and depending on what the judges want they twist the "rule" one way or another. Lamppost called Greg brings more viewers than unassuming Daisy, hence the verdict against her.

I'm sorry but I've never rated daisy's dancing. She always seemed so tentative. Greg won that DO fair and square.

I think you are right - but generously thinking, maybe they use 'history' as a tie-breaker when the dance-off performances are really tight?
