OK, I admit to not having watched particularly attentively this week - but where was the cloak in Greg's Paso? There didn't seem to be one.

I thought he nailed it in the DO. Well done.

I do worry about his knees, though. Some tortuous choreography there.

He did a bit of 'scarf waving' at the beginning, which, sorry, made me laugh a bit. He's so macho after all.

I think that Natalie was wearing a covering over her shoulders which Greg removed at the top of the stairs and performed "cloakography" with, then discarded it before his leap on to the main dance floor!

He took the cloak from around Nat's shoulders right at the start & gave it a quick twirl or two before he did the big jump onto the dancefloor!!

I absolutely loved the routine but then I'm a sucker for a traditional Paso set to proper music!!
Hated Claudia/Aj's last week but that was down to the song rather than their performance!!

I do worry for Greg from here on as that was the dance I was most looking forward to from him & I think his next Latin type could see him eliminated!!

If he dodges one of them, he's only got either samba or charleston left which he'd have to do in the semi-final if he made it that far. If Natalie chooses to drop one of his two remaining latins, he'd have a run of ballrooms for the next three weeks, albeit one of them being the AT.

To you and to others on this thread who identified the cloakography! (nice word) Thanks, I more or less missed it, having just re-entered the living from making tea - or something - during the beginning. I caught his jump, though!

I was always taught to believe that in a traditional 'paso doble'.....the man is the bullfighter and the lady is the cloak.

I've always thought it was more interchangeable than that and that one of them can also be the bull.

They don't always have a cape. Some of the judges don't like them anyway.

Cloaks aren't used in competitive paso doble, so there's no requirement to have one.

in paso man=matador and woman the cape - authentic paso never has a cloak or cloak wafting

there doesnt necessarily have to be a cloak

I guess there is the suspicion that getting the male celebrity to waft around a cloak for 10 seconds is a way of filling time if you have a duff dancer!

The Paso doesn't need to have a cape. Len especially doesn't like "caping" so the long-standing pros tend to know not to bother with it.

I don't like it when they wave a cape - totally unnecessary in my opinion - but I thought the shawl waving was ridiculous.

I think it was that bit of foo-foo he took off Nat's shoulders right at the beginning and waved it about as if her was waving bye bye as a train left the station
