The Dance off Daisy v Greg
Have only just watched last night's Dance off
I have to say I expected Daisy to go through because she seems to be such a favourite with the Judges and has danced to a higher level than Greg thus far in the series. But........Greg absolutely nailed that DO....not only had he listened to the critique after Saturday's dance, but he put every single ounce of strength in it - he was so sharp, so clean.....I had goosebumps watching it. To me, he defied them to send him home!! Loved it and he and Nat thoroughly deserved to go through on that dance alone. |

Yeah he outdanced her and you could tell by Lens comment about heart/ head that he knew that Greg had out danced her even though he probably thought she was overall the stronger dancer overall

The only tangible difference I detected in the DO was Daisy not repeating her obvious mistake.
I'm sure the judges would concede the difficulty of directly comparing a paso with a salsa of similar standard. |

I think Greg edged the dance off but if they had been too close to separate I think voting off Daisy would have been the right thing to do. Regardless of who had the better overall dance ability she doesn't have the public support and was on borrowed time.

I think daisy's issue is that she is so tall that he legs always look like they are slow and half hearted, which I think is down to the length rather than laziness, you just don't get the sharpeness, so her dances never look as good as they should iMO. I much prefer watching Greg dance, I thought his dance was fantastic.

On paper, this would have been really hard for me to judge because I have not been enamoured with either celebrity's dancing throughout the competition However, taking the dance-off as one is supposed to (based on THAT dance only regardless of previous), Greg was in commanding form and, to be honest, I don't think I've EVER seen him dance better. Superb doesn't cover it. His athletics competitive streak was glaring and stood him in excellent stead when he needed it most. Daisy didn't dance badly in the DO and I was really impressed by her lifts but her performance couldn't hold a candle to Greg. This dance-off was almost perfection because it was all about upping their game which Greg did in spades. Finally, we haven't lost the two best things that Greg has going for him - Natalie and, more importantly, his gorgeous butt!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() REALLY sorry to see my fave pro Aljaz go though...

I've only been watching this series off and on; from what I've seen in past episodes, Daisy was the superior dancer to Greg, but last night in the DO he amazed me. His every movement was so clean and precise and you could just feel the passion radiating out of him. Daisy in contrast looked like she had given up. Maybe she naturally sensed it was her time to go?

They both improved in the dance off, but Greg improved more, in fact I think he danced it as well as he could have, which must have been very pleasing to Natalie (You could see her nodding at what Craig said about nailing it).
Daisy has consistently been a better dancer than Greg, and this was maybe the only opportunity for Greg to be legitimately saved over her. Being allocated a hippie themed Salsa to Disco music was a recipe for a visit to the D O. I thought she danced it well. Kara Tointon advised the very fit Harry Judd to do extra training to be fit enough for Strictly. I think getting herself a lot fitter before Strictly would have made all the difference to Daisy - she could have trained more and put more power into her dances. She would then have been a very good dancer. I had hoped that chemistry would also have been a big plus factor for Daisy and Aljaz, but it didn't reach that level. They get along very well, but for some reason, didn't bring enough passion to the dance floor. Very sweet, soft, gentle, likeable girl and potentially a VERY good dancer, but we didn't see her reach her potential IMO. Aljaz misses out this year and so we will have a pro winning their first Strictly this year. |

Greg was outstanding and I hope this has spurred him on to use that drive in the competition.

He upped his game when it counted. That' is one advantage of being a sports person.

It just shows you how lazy, half-hearted and complacent he's been up til now.

I think Daisy always made her dances look easier than they actually were. There was always a lot of content and tricky lifts. Lovely girl, Alijaz clearly adored her.

Compared to Daisy!!! She filled half her salsa with cha cha steps because she'd already learned them and they showed off her legs...

I was really, really sorry to see Daisy go.
She seems such a lovely natured person, but, Greg really was the best in the D.O. in my opinion, in fact, he really was quite impressive! I've been a bit meh about him until then, and I've gone off Natalie this series, so they're not my favourite couple at all.I will remember Daisy for her beautiful Viennese Waltz. |

In the main show I think Daisy and Greg both got the same mark from the judges (?). They both made mistakes.
In the DO Daisy corrected the mistakes, but appeared less sure, and seemed to run out of steam. Greg absolutely nailed his routine in the DO, including correcting the mistakes and came out even stronger. If he had danced like that in the main show he would have been higher on the leader board. Yes, Daisy has been better than Greg in previous weeks, but while Greg is improving, Daisy has stayed much the same. |

Greg improved a lot. It's not so much that he was lazy to do it better the first time, but being in the DO gives you an additional kick up the arse that will either help you or break you. Also Daisy was 3rd time in the DO so they were probably disinclined to put her through based on her past performances, if it meant they would have her back in a week's time. People were not voting for her and Greg _was_ better in the DO. But I do wonder if he lasts beyond Blackpool. I think he can outdance Ed and Doctor Grinder, but nobody else.

I spotted that Gregg nailed the dance and Daisy didn't, the comments as said and decision has to be purley on the DO so the right couple went through IMO

I knew Daisy was going from reading the spoiler thread and I was surprised to read the result of the dance off, but when I watched it last night, I was stunned at just how poor Daisy AND Alijaz (?) performed. Daisy seemed almost to be going through the motions and her partner was not much better.
Now a cynic like me might say she thought she'd get through anyway cos she knows the judges love her. Or some might say she was so brassed off at being in the dance off again she decided to call it quits and give up. Whatever the reason she was definitely a lot worse than Greg in that dance off. |

Agree with the majority here. Greg nailed the DO - eliminating the mistakes and really took ownership of the dance. Daisy on the other had may have danced it with no errors but there was no oomph or passion. To be honest it should have been a unanimous decision - not sure why Bruno thought Daisy was better. In the main show I would also have given the edge to Greg - but by a squeak whereas the DO was a much more decisive win.
I also read the spoiler thread and knew who was in the DO and who was leaving and some posters were pretty mad Daisy had been eliminated without even seeing the DO. Hopefully they will realise why Daisy went home - she was just worse in the DO. |
