4GB of data, unlimited minutes, unlimited texts for £10.00 per month, 30-day rolling contract. EE network.

It doesn't look like existing PlusNet broadband subscribers get a better deal.

They are offering 4GB of 4G data, unlimited U.K texts and unlimited U.K calls for £10/month/30 days for £10 instead of £15.

BT Mobile's offering is £15/month/30 days for the same amount of U.K data with Unlimited U.K texts but only 500 inclusive minutes.

Wonder where they'll take priority on the EE network?

I'm pretty sure EE don't set priority levels as such, happy to be corrected though.

Also worth mentioning that the current EE owned provider LifeMobile is being merged with / rebranded as this new service

Interesting. I imagine Life customers will be pleased as it means they're finally getting 4G.

BT own Plusnet and EE acquired Life Mobile after the failure of P4U, so all part of BT now. They have obviously decided to put the two together into Plusnet as the stronger brand.

Only if they move to one of the new plans which seem to have less mins/txts for the same money.

I’ve got a Life sim on the go but don’t think I would change the sim plan just to get 4G as I’m getting 18 Mb down with 3G so see no reason to change.

Changing to the Plusnet equivalent would lose me 350 minutes and 4,500 texts and just to rub a bit of salt would also cost me a whopping great big 5p more.

See the FAQs. Plusnet broadband users will get double data for each price level although this doesn't apply to the preregistration offer

Will be interesting to see if this sparks Vodafone into upgrading their talkmobile offerings to 4G

I wonder if they will also try and upsell the bt sport app for an additional £5 per month or plusnet mobile tv?

That looks like a good deal, but do you have to also switch your broadband and home phone over to PlusNet to get this deal,

How do they get away with charging £8 per mb of data in the US?

Well, I'm not sure they do get away with it. Only a fool would use their SIMs for data there.

If someone wanted to take advantage of the "uSwitch exclusive" LIFE mobile tariff of 1.5GB for £5.95/month, then presumably they should get a move on before 29 November... unless there are any rumours of any similar 'hidden' deals for the new Plusnet Mobile brand?

This plusnet mobile deal is good mind you.

My Life Mobile account changed over to Plusnet today with no problems.

Phone still showing Life Mobile on the notification bar but I assume that will change tomorrow or the phone needs turning off and back on.

Not a week gone by since the switch from Life mobile to Plusnet and already my current accounts page is showing mistakes with my current usage showing from the 11/12/16 to 11/01/17 and this being the 5/12/16 today.

What it is showing for usage is my usage from 11/11/16 to 11/12/16 or should be so will they be adding that to the next month usage and therefore extra charges.

I’ve had no problems with Life Mobile but if they muck up my billing after a week I’m off elsewhere and time, a very short time will tell.

Still deciding what to do, i was not going to start changing things until next year, and the change was get rid of plusnet for broadband, get rid of Vodafone for mobile and try something different, now with vodafone doing broadband at a decent price and plusnet doing mobile at a decent price, not sure which way to go.

I noticed that Plusnet mobile is supporting tethering, not that I have used it a lot, but always useful to have.

i do not really like putting things in one basket and normaly stay well clear of having loads of services with one provider.

Sounds like they might have moved over to a new (or updated) billing platform along with the name change.

I wonder if BT is moving people over to EE's billing? There must have been many issues with Orange users who moved early on too.

I guess that would make some sense, especially if the LIFE mobile billing platform - presumably inherited from its Phones4u days - incurs any significant degree of ongoing costs (for example licensing).

Though if this is the case (and we're purely in the territory of supposition here!), then perhaps unwise to make the switch at the same time as launching the new brand.

One thing I remembered particularly when I read about LIFE mobile was how the voicemail service could only be turned on and off - and the delay increased? - by customer services, which struck me as an odd decision on the part of the system's designers. Maybe this has changed now it's Plusnet Mobile?

P.S. The introductory £10 for 4GB sim-only tariff seems quite good value. On a 30 day contract too, and one has to assume they'd honour it for a decent amount of time (i.e. at least a year).
