New number so messing with ports etc.. Been very good so far, I'm within the london M25 so signal should be good |

I guess that would make some sense, especially if the LIFE mobile billing platform - presumably inherited from its Phones4u days - incurs any significant degree of ongoing costs (for example licensing).
Though if this is the case (and we're purely in the territory of supposition here!), then perhaps unwise to make the switch at the same time as launching the new brand. One thing I remembered particularly when I read about LIFE mobile was how the voicemail service could only be turned on and off - and the delay increased? - by customer services, which struck me as an odd decision on the part of the system's designers. Maybe this has changed now it's Plusnet Mobile? P.S. The introductory £10 for 4GB sim-only tariff seems quite good value. On a 30 day contract too, and one has to assume they'd honour it for a decent amount of time (i.e. at least a year). Loads cheaper and better usage compared to EE http://shop.ee.co.uk/cart Just a shame they don't have high street shops, as find that really handy if ever got any issues, local O2 shop has fab customer service. Or could you just go into local EE shop if you were on Plusnet mobile? edit just been on live chat... yes current prices etc will be honoured, no increase after a short term due it being a introductory offer. Also no EE shops cant help. |

as an existing broadband user (with no intention of changing) this is a bargain compared to my present O2 deal https://www.plus.net/mobile/basket

Just remember to use the coverage checker at places you visit frequently.

And if you want to keep your existing number read the posts in this thread and make your own mind up.

Just come across this thread, missed news about Plusnet mobile. As a Plusnet broadband user, just looking into it. Prices cheaper and you get more for your money than my present O2 deal. Also should be better coverage.

Had 3 contracts with Life Mobile, since PlusNet took over they have managed to lose a ported number, so when anyone tries to call they are told the number does not exist. ...
Just to be clear that we're reading this right, the number that has been lost (hopefully only temporarily) had been successfully ported in to LIFE Mobile - and was working normally - before LIFE changed into Plusnet mobile? If that's the case, then it seems Plusnet mobile aren't only making a hash of porting numbers into their new system, they have also somehow managing to lose at least one number that has been previously ported in when it was still LIFE Mobile. Worrying. |

I've had porting problems before (not involving MVNOs) and it is immensely frustrating, with your number being stuck in limbo, callers getting the "number does not exist" message and text messages just disappearing into a black hole. |

Though if it was me, and I wanted to port a number in, I wouldn't go near them with a bargepole.

I ordered a Plusnet sim a few days ago and it came today. I've gone ahead and requested a port so I'm hoping that goes through despite the problems over Christmas.
However, I seem to have one of the few faulty SIMs, as no matter what I do, mobile data does not work. Tried different APNs, reset settings etc, tried in multiple phones, nothing. It's the same problem other users have reported over on their community. I waited 30 mins on hold to get to Customer services, who have sent me out a new SIM in the hope it will fix it. Not a great start but if they work from here on, it does sound like a good little network. Plus it's a joy to have UK customer service. Had to get my PAC code from iD mobile and the poor woman from, I'm guessing India, could not understand my accent nor could I understand hers. Not her fault though. I'll update when I get the new SIM! |

i have decided to have a look myself as well, got my sim today, but it says it will not be activated for a couple of days after I received it.
i am not porting my number yet, I will try it out and see what it is like and stick my old sim in my old Motorola non-smart phone, so people can still get in touch with me on my old number. i will try the plusnet sim in my phone for a couple of weeks or so and then if all goes well I will get a pac from Voda, if not then I can cancel plusnet mobile as it is only a 30 day contract |
