You really do have it in for them don't you?
It's beginning to appear almost pathological. Perhaps for your own wellbeing, you ought to stop investing quite so much time overthinking the format of a highly successful TV programme which enjoys enormous public popularity and high ratings.
Given all that, I suspect that the producers of the show seem to have a far better grasp of what works well than you do.
