How many times do you have to be told that most people will find one or two bits of a programme that slightly annoy them, but otherwise they thoroughly enjoy it?

If comments bother you, I suggest you scroll down and certainly never look at the TV Shows board.

As a purely personal opinion, I'd suggest the less Tess says the better, "she's starting somewhat to act and sound a bit like the old codger."

answer.

i don't really mind the acknowledgement, though i don't really think it's necessary because the audience nearly always stand up after a dance, it's the way she screeches it as if it's the first time it's ever happened everytime that get's on my nerves.

Ok that took you " seconds" this time, to come back on one of my posts!

Doghouse when you quote, " How many times do you have to be told that most people will find one or two bits of a programme that slightly annoy them", can you give me some information how you know, -that most people will find one or two bits of a programme that slightly annoy them- did you do a survey? Question people? How do you know that?

Or based on this thread and the few that post here against the ten million who watch each week.

Back to - most people will find one or two bits of a programme that slightly annoy them, if we " accept this" ( unscientific analysis), that is a lot different to the character assassination posted by a few negative posters here, who rather than just let one or two bits annoy them, post threads with negative posts on,
Len.
Craig.
Tess.
Claudia.
Bruce,
With full background detail, was a docker, or do not like her accent, or should have retired. Seems fir a negative few everything is wrong from VTs etc. I have seen posts, that a poster doesn't watch it live, and skips through the bits they do not like, but post as the show is broadcast.

So we can't believe a word from a few posters who may have their own agendas.

We see a lot of misinformation posted, salaries doubled or trebled, posted as facts but picked out if the air. Google searchs can for the most prove what is posted is wrong.

There is a huge difference between viewers who may not like the odd bit, and a tsunami of negativity in Post being personally rude about the people and presenting styles of Tess and Claudia. So to say in a very condescending way, who many times do you have to be told, as if I am 5 years old, is in itself rude.

The pity is, there are some very nice posters here, people love this show, the organisation on the spoiler thread is fantastic, - where you made a complaint about the other posts there! The nice people are put off visiting here, many of us gave jobs and commitments and cannot be here 24/7 replying or reading all the negative posts but you seem to expect everyone must read yours!

Like I said before X Factor changed for the worse Grimshaw for god's sake the more hyperbole the less believable it became, plus it needs to be better because most people hate the adverts, that's the advantage of the TV Tax and it really is a tax in all but name.

Replacing Ms Winkleman is hardly likely to damage the show, it could do with an infusion of younger blood for one thing, of course that younger blood would need to be good and that in itself would improve the show. Even a simple replacement with Ms Ball would be an improvement, as she is a personality with a much stronger track record on Radio and TV from a young age. The black dressed squinter is a journeyman presenter promoted late in career well above her real ability, which is where she was 15 years ago, a day I might add where the BBC though in decline could still identify and promote real quality. Sadly there are plenty more cut from the same cloth dominating the peak time slots, bland yes boys and girls.

Reading all this makes me wonder if the OP is suffering a touch of the "Victor Meldrews" is James Jordan, or works for ITV.

If he doesn't enjoy it maybe he should watch something else?

Just delurking for a bit- going back into hiding again.

If he stopped watching it he wouldn't he able to sneer, attempt to belittle, rudely refer to people he doesn't know by their surnames, let us know how his opinion is actually fact, that anyone who enjoys the show as it is is wrong and only what he wants can save it from crashing out of the ratings.

Sounds like Louis Walsh but he hasn't done anything to restore XFactor to the ratings has he?

I can dispute that most of the show is pretty solid, evolution not revolution is always sensible when you are on top. Ed Balls and Katya pairing was a masterstroke this year and the general tone of the male judges to keep it reasonably real over the years has stood the show in good stead, although there are signs of that waning, especially last week, which could go down an X Factor road.

That anyone thinks though that a. a pair of presenters who could look and act the part together and b. one or more who could add some flair and proper repartee to the proceedings would not improve it baffles me. Yes I agree it is possible to get someone worse in who is totally unsuitable and my word in the modern BBC they select some dross but that is no excuse for not improving where they are weak.

It probably is an all time low this year in terms of the acts, not to say though that will be the case next year. You never know what is round the corner in that game.

I have no idea about what happens on X-Factor. It doesn't appeal to me in the slightest, but it obviously does to several million others and I'm sure they enjoy it as much as I enjoy Strictly fronted by Tess and quirky Claudia who do an excellent job - I'm not stating that as fact as someone else does, but in my opinion and in the opinion of several million others

For those who do not like Tess or thing she isn't a good presenter.

Watch the One Show tonight on IPlayer.

On the Richshaw challenge one of the Richshaw team was on SCD giving a sleach.

Tess presented it in a caring way, full of emotion, with empathy and professionalism.

It shows out if the constraints of the SCD programme what a natural person and presenter is,

The One Show is hardly a challenge is it, possibly the blandest most banal offering ever on mainstream TV, probably her calling with Baker they would make a super partnership.

I imagine it should read 'speech'. P and L are close together on the keyboard and misspellings (like typos) are not uncommon.

I wondered if it was one of those contrived portmanteau words... like "slanket".

Doesn't explain the presence of that "a" though.

That's why I don't usually comment on typos or spelling mistakes, unless there's an inoffensive joke in there, as we are none of us, infallible. Though the temptation is there if someone is having a go at you.

I've said that enough times on DS.

I've made some legendary typos over the years as my typing is so substandard. I do usually proof read before I submit but every so often one gets through and I feel compelled to go back and edit.

There's no worse feeling than being locked out of the opportunity to edit a huge typo after 30 minutes.

Another point I've mentioned several times in the past, is that, "I'm reliably informed," that there's a bug in the software of all message boards. It doesn't matter how careful you are at proof-reading your message, this bug will sometimes include a random typo or spelling mistake after you've carefully read, "Preview Post" and clicked on, "Submit Reply."
