Yes, there are ways you can hide your IP using Virtual Private Networks (VPN) which you can find on the internet. Your computer receives a fake IP address provided by the VPN server, so anybody snooping on you (such as the government) won't be able to see your real IP.

I often use it for downloading.

Some people seem to get away with having loads of aliases like that Sharon fan who was partly responsible for driving Ell_Ren away from the forum. He/She has sent me abusive PMs from two of their accounts and sent Ell_Ren and Pink_Smurf PMs pretending to be Jamesc_715.

I heard from Ell_Ren via email about a week ago and she mentioned possibly coming back but she hasn't yet. It's a real shame.

I believe there is a department assigned with tracking the activity on illegal download sites. It's better to be safe than sorry.

The content can be anything that has been illegally shared for free on the internet. TV shows, movies, music etc.
