Did anyone else notice that Anna was trying to use her crutches the wrong way round last night?

The handles should be forward of the shaft to take the upper body weight, which then places the upper forearm pieces just below and behind the elbow. I'm amazed that a) Anna didn't come a cropper and b) the hospital staff let her go home without first instructing her in the use of crutches.

I thought there were medical advisors on these programmes .. must have had a day off last night!

When I was on crutches, hospital staff made me go through a mini training course before I was let loose with them.

Ye she'd never have been allowed to go without showing she could walk with them. I had to be seen going up and downstairs on mine before going home which was a skill I never fully learned.

Totally agree! When I bust my Achilles tendon I was shown how to use crutches before my operation. That involved going up and down stairs too - and that was before I had the added weight disadvantage of a full above-knee plaster cast to contend with post-operatively!

The hospital staff, without the guidance of advisers thought they were doing her a good turn and probably turned her legs around so she could run and crutch away from future fires in a hurry. So she is using them properly in her situation.

I really think lack of crutch etiquette is the very least of Corrie's woes right now.

Does Corrie even have a medical advisor these days?

I don't think they have any advisors any longer, including crime advisor, continuity advisor, reality advisor

Blimey, you could be on to something there. All the soaps could do with one of those. I propose you set up an agency for reality advisors .. I'm sure it would be hugely oversubscribed and you'd make an absolute mint!
