In my mind he has improved because he no longer sets my teeth on edge like he did in his original stint. He was one of the characters I really disliked back then. He's fine now imo, although I don't know why he is thought of as one of the best soap has ever had but there you go, he has a big fanbase which always votes for him.
He reminds me of Lacey Turner (Stacey EE), I didn't like them at all during their original stints but since they've returned after a couple years away I quite enjoy them. She is another who gets a million awards a year because of a big fanbase.

I agree with this, it's definitely not a case of either Robron fan or Robron haters, I like both characters and I usually have a fondness for gay couples in soap so usually route for them- I like them together however if they did spilt up my world would not end like it would for a Robron fan.
As for Danny Miller- people criticise his portrayal back when Aaron was with Jackson and they assume that he "clearly is not comfortable acting romantically with another man"
I believe he was acting as directed! Aaron was about as uncomfortable with being gay as it's possible to be back then, he beat Paddy half to death then almost killed himself in order not to face the fact he was gay- so when he did start tentatively dating Jackson he was bound to be reserved and not quite so physical.
I have been with my boyfriend for five years and I still get a little anxious and nervous when we are out in public if he wants to go in for a kiss or even hold hands (depending on where we are and the size of the crowd).
Anyway, as for Danny Miller, considering he has played Aaron for around about 8 years in total he can't have that much of a problem with playing gay.
After actually seeing the kiss I don't see why the Robron stans got into a twitter meltdown. Its not as if Robert carried Rebecca up stairs to smash, he quickly rejected her.

He took his time to pull away and then his reasons were that it wasn't the right time and that the most important thing was Home Farm. People wanted him to make a clear rejection and most importantly say that it was because he loved Aaron or something similar....

At this point the Robron stans should not be surprised with Robert's actions. Like in the summer when he was telling Aaron how he'd made him a better man and then went and did his Kim Tate impersonation on Lawrence? I have never felt that Robert was capable of loving anyone, sure he might care for Aaron on some level but Robert is always looking out for number one and will stop at nothing to get what he wants so. So if he has to sleep with Rebecca and hurt Aaron to get Home Farm he doesn't care, in his mind he probably thinks Aaron will forgive him eventually.

And yet people have moaned endlessly about them ruining the show just to pander to the Robron fans by keeping Robert and Aaron together as if tptb are somehow being held in a basement at gunpoint by these fans and forced to write this couple into the show. I agree the writers should write what they want and people should stop pretending as if a few vocal fans have any real say on both sides. If they want Robert and Rebecca to have an affair they will, if they decide Robert and Aaron should get married and stay together forever and adopt a dozen babies and live happily ever after they will. If they decide Kasim will wake up from his coma and decide to have a threesome with Aaron and Finn they will (well maybe not that one since they barely allow them to kiss onscreen as it is).

I can see their point even if I don't agree entirely. They made a point of having Robert say that just because he's bisexual doesn't mean he'll cheat with anything that moves, something people both on and off screen seem to believe as gospel about bisexuality, and barely a month later he's making out with someone he's only ever been shown so far as having at best lukewarm feelings for. Of course Robert is a pathological cheater, although I suspect he's going to rationalize this in his head as any means necessary, but if they were trying to genuinely dispel that myth they're not exactly off to a great start.

Yeah I doubt there was much social media demand for a Dan and Nicola affair or a Kerry downward spiral storyline or for her to sleep with Sam or for Cain and Moira to break up or Zak and Joanie or Belle hooking up with a doctor twice her age and hearing dead people.

I think Robert needs to stop trying to sleep his way into other people's fortunes and figure out how to make his own because this line of work really isn't working out for him. He blew it with Chrissie and my guess is Rebecca will wise up to him before long. I think she's only chasing after him because her ego was bruised when he chose Chrissie over her. And it's not as if she's getting her hand on Lawrence's money until he dies anyway.
