She's not even half as funny as TPTB seem to think she is.

I did like Kerry but they are really making her unlikable, I wasn't that mad when she let Ross smash in the back of his car but then aborting the baby even though it could have been Dan's, then bombarding her way into Sam's house, sleeping with Sam and then whoring her self out to the pasty dude from the factory has made her unlikable. I also don't understand why they are trying to give her leading lady status, Kerry is a background character that is best in very small doses.

She was last year but tptb regressed her too much to what she came into the show as that all I see is a middle aged alkie and they are never fun.
If she's going back to being this way permanently then I agree its been a waste of the last few years in which she developed as a character. Dan was the best thing to happen to Kerry and they made a good couple, she was by no means perfect but she was a hell of a lot more likeable than she is right now. |

It's not just you. She's always been an utterly appalling and unlikable character who's been kept on well past her sell by date because the official line is that she's "funny". Dan deserved far better than her, I've no idea why he put up with her as long as he did.

I just had a massive rant on this last night, actually. She's horrendous, and she's so OTT with the Geordie speak - my other half is Geordie, and I spend 50% of my time in Newcastle, as well as working with them in London, and she definitely puts it on. No one says "howayyy man!" as much as she does, as well as reeling out every Geordie cliche in the book.
Her voice (not accent) really grates. She's utterly selfish, ungrateful, hates seeing anyone else do well, self-destructive, and annoying as hell. I wish she'd leave. |

Yes. She is like a parody and an unlikeable character too. ED could do with losing her; Tracy; Doug and Marlon and Paddy imo.

Of course you're not the only one.
I still like her though. |

I cannot bear her character either. I like Brenda but she is seriously under-used and just replacing Betty as the village gossip but not nearly so good at it! Lesley Dunlop is a lovely actor and I think she is being wasted, the actor who plays Kerry (whose name I cannot remember) is also being wasted but in a different way!

It's obvious the B team are in residence right now while all the other characters, who were involved in the pile-up are currently off screen (probably holiday time for the actors). With the focus currently on Kerry, Diane and Victoria, the show has been diabolical for the last week or so. I've always found all three work really well as background characters. There's been some shocking acting/directing of their characters recently. |

Well said. She does work better as a minor character, and she's much more likeable with Bernice, Joanie, Dan and Amelia, than the wanton trollop she is right now, overshadowing everyone else. Last week's scenes in the factory and the pub were beyond toe-curling.

I completely agree and I think one problem since McLeod has taken over is he can get the right mix of characters in an episode. Like last night we had Kerry and Jimmy nonsense for most of the episode it was terrible. If they must feature these characters make sure say Robron, Coira, or Ross are heavily featured as well. Also McLeod needs to think about giving other characters more screen time like Bob, why not give him a story, or Hairriet or even Carly and Marlon. We haven't seen them in ages.

I still find it so sad that Carly is with Marlon, what a way to ruin a character.

She's always been a horrid character. Easy, plays the victim, hypocritical, common as muck, trashy.
Her recent stuff has only shown that her character has gone full circle. Only time I found her mildly amusing was when she was dancing in the factory last week and twerking on Jai. |

Diane is best behind the bar and berating Chas in the back room. This is her purpose on the show and taking her away from there was a mistake.

Her personality transplant is another one in need of a rethink. Who's writing this tripe? Kerry was never the goody goody but this has gone way past ridiculous. At least they've stopped their stupidity with Rishi for now.
It seems to be all over the place at the moment with a multitude of SLs hanging in the air and no sustained focus. |
