Masood makes his final appearance on Thursday, and I will miss him and his family who have by far been the most successful Asian family on the square. I know he hasn't had much to do since the departure of Shabs and Tamwar and understand his decision.

The Masoods were a fabulous addition to the show and although I never liked Zainab, because she was played by a fabulous actress, I accepted her as part of the show and in general the whole family were played by decent actors.

I hope they revisit the square in the future but for now it is a fond farewell from me.

What did you lot think of the family?

I loved Them Such a success after The Ferreira's loved Cryed And that whole storyline. Enjoyed Yusef. Shab's still birth was great. Even AJ made me laugh. Nitin has given great performance's throughout his time on the Show. End of an era .

I'll miss Masood and as long as he still owns the house, I'll hold out some hope that he might return one day along with Zainab.

I wonder if Dot will get to say "Mr Masmood" one last time?

I'm quite angry that they misused Masood so badly this year as he was one of my favourite characters throughout 2014 and 2015. I do think he was at a very loose end when Tamwar left but I think there was more that could have been done with him. I'm not sure I'll miss him as much now because I didn't like the development he had recently, but maybe if he does go to reunite with Zainab, the two of them can return stronger than ever one day in the not-so-distant future.

Know that, but all in the family were really Indian hindhus or other Indian religion.

Have any of the muslims in EE ever been real muslims?

OK, can see problems if Sayed - OK, the character who played him, had been muslim - they would probably never have got him to play gay or Masood to gamble/drink

Not fit to lace the boots of the Jefferys & Kapoors.

Another character that won't be there when I eventually tune back in

Mas is OK but the women of the family were always the much stronger characters for me. He was a good foil to them but it really is time for him to go.

Nitin's a good actor and I'll miss Masood a bit but it does feel like his best days are long behind him. I'm praying he takes Bonnie Langford with him.

Why? She lights up any scene she's in bags of charm and personality and a very natural actress.

Bonnie is indeed a good actress and a nice lady but her character makes me want to poke out my own eyeballs.

Fair enough. Think she's an asset myself and slots in any story rather easily

The Masoods were nothing without Zainab, and while I did enjoy Shabnam's second stint the character was clearly never intended to be long term.

Masood's exit has been inevitable since 2013.

The Masoods were a great family but it's time, the past few weeks having been way to drawn out for his character.

For all the grief SOC gets, it's a nice touch to reunite Masood and Zainab off screen so they can come back one day together.

If it was DTC, Masood would've killed someone and gone on a run.

Nitin is great, but the character could do with a rest. Potentially Ganatra, Wadia and Thakrar could return for a new chapter in a few years.

What's the reason the tens of non muslim characters are on and are kept on for years and years?

I will miss Masood, I missed Zainab a lot for a long time, too.

He pretty much died as a character when Zainab left. Honestly since then, at times, he's barely resembled the character he was because they just had no idea what to do with him. He seems a bit more like himself in his final week, thank God.

I will miss Masood but unfortunately he just couldnt survive without his family around him. I'm not sure if this was just because they didnt put enough effort in or if it never would have worked. I'm glad he's seemingly heading off to reunite with Zainab in a way.

Good luck to Nitin

I preferred the original Shabnam but the unit of Mas, Zainab, Tam and Shabnam was good and then later with Kamil. syed and Christian were good together but I don't particularly miss them. I think there is still a place the square for them in fact I am not sure they were ever really replaced.

But Mas and Tam were two of my favourite characters for a long time in the last few years.

I wonder if Tam was still around if Mas would still be but at least the new EP is fixing the hatchet job dtc did! Not sure why he did it but glad it's been fixed and it of course paves the way for both Mas and Zainab to return next year (hopefully with Tam)

Good post as always Elly I hope he does return and although I don't like Zainab much I do like the actress so wouldn't mind too much if they returned together, and would love it if Tam returned with Nancy
