My theory re Sofiane...(POSSIBLE SPOILER)
Not sure if I'm right but I can't helping thinking that Sofiane may actually be the runaway winner of this series but a narrative has been drawn up for him (anti team-playing) so that it doesn't looks so obvious.
I say this because there was not a hint of his self-centredness in the first task which he commanded with aplomb as sub team leader. He was the standout, getting everybody organised and mucking in himself - the VERY definition of team-playing in fact. Now, all of a sudden, this selfish streak has appeared which I, for one, don't buy one bit. The whole team rallied round him in Task 1, now he is Public Enemy No 1 with the entire house. There was also another possible hint this week when he announced on his return that: I'm different from all of you. I taught myself English etc"....perfect narrative for Sugar's eventual "Hired" choice..in a 'boy made good' scenario much like plumber Joe last year. Who's with me...???

I'm more thinking Sophocles to be honest.

I think top 5 for definite, potential top 2 but I personally doubt it - he seems a bit too much of a Daniel Lassman type (Mark's year) to progress further unless he has a redemption arc of sorts. He was outstanding in the first task, but he's been on a bit of a downward slide since then.
If they were going to construct a narrative for him, there were better ways that they could have gone than this, and it would be purely all from LAS/Karren/Claude. The fact that this narrative has been going on since week 3, and started from Alana and Courtney, suggests to me that it's not a false narrative at all - and most likely will end up being his undoing. |

the bad edit in the last 2-3 episodes was not looking good if we wanted to talk about his chances of winning.
He might not even make it to the interview if he kept flopping. |

If Sofiane wins then this series has been a waste of time

I bloody hope not. He's been absolutely awful, and for a couple of weeks in a row was lucky to not be taken back to the boardroom and fired.

JD should have bought him back in week five, so that Sofiane could be fired.

I disagree for two reasons:
1) Sugar likes to go for different angles each year with the winning candidate - 'playing it safe' with experienced sector industry vs 'taking a gamble' with the cosmetic surgery choice. I don't think he'd like to repeat himself on that basis. 2) Yes, people can have redemption arcs, but if that's playing out for anyone this year, it's Karthick. The point of a redemption arc is not to end up with a candidate who is so fundamentally undermined in the eyes of the viewer that Sugar's overall judgement is questioned. I think he's being set up for the 'I can't wait to see the f*** up that gets them fired' arc personally - where you have the viewer het up to see how big a mistake they will make. |

![]() I'd say Sofi is more like Syed, delusional, big headed, and possibly about to buy 100 chickens for 100 pizzas at any moment. ![]() My money is still on Sofi to be ejected at the interviews as the one that gets pulled up for BSing his resume. |

I am convinced he makes it to the Interviews but then ends up leaving during that episode due to his attitude? That's what I've thought since the start.

Another Stella
He stands no chance whatever of winning. The alarm bells will be ringing over his sulking and childish attitude.

100%. He changes what he wants year to year. One year he says "I want to play it safe" and another he wants to purposely NOT play it safe (Leah's win... cosmetics really isn't his thing) and he goes for different types of people whether they were blessed in life/business or worked hard from working class to get where they are (Joseph last year). I can never tell what he's thinking. IMO the winner is 20% based on performance/whether Alan likes them and 80% on business plan.
You could have an amazing track record but if your plan is awful, you won't win. The tasks are more relevant now than they were with the old format because Lord Sugar needs to know whether each candidate has the drive and ability actually to put the business plan into action. |
