Two threads is confusing. Anyway anyone listen to the Bond track and determine it's suitability for a paso? I will give it a listen when I get home.
But it's a fast tune with a lot of classical instruments, their signature, so it could perhaps work for a Paso? |

Not keen on louise's paso Blackpool cries out for a traditional one - the only ones with appropriate music are Danny and Oti - all the others are meh and feel sorry for Ore with foxtrot music for a V.Waltz

Mel B did a samba to Spice Up Your Life in DWTS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBYPHsr7T_8
I wonder how she felt when she heard that band murdering her song. There's absolutely no way Greg is going to cope with such a fast song like Hand Jive. They really want him out, don't they? |

Though it's been used for a Paso on Strictly before:

I need to register to the Bond track to determine if it works. But it at least has no words so won't distract.
Judge Rinder salsa-ing to Spice Up Your Life will probably be great fun, and I don't mind too much him getting that song after a couple of classy old standards. It seems the PTB still haven't entirely taken the 'comedy' tag off him though. |

Why does the list say that Puttin' On The Ritz is by Gregory Porter? I have never thought he would sing that!

I can't do the link from my phone but YouTube has a clip of Bond playing that song on what I guess is the Australian version of the show with Trent and someone dancing the paso to it, so I assume it works as a paso.
I don't think many of the choices help the celebs. Good songs, but don't necessarily create a strong version of that dance. Ore will be ok because Sinatra is vote-winning and in Blackpool with, probably, props and extra dancers, they'll probably go more AS without lifts and less VW anyway, and it will work for that. He can replay his Singing in the Rain dance, I think his best dance. Could be an old school jazz hands 'off' versus Danny's charleston. Hate Greg's song but glad he's got something cheerful and non-angst for a change. Think that song makes it more likely he'll go though. The Judge's song seems very make or break to me. He could steal Ed's thunder or it could be a big step backwards. |

Well, no major disasters there, I think. As always, there's something a little off on a few of them, but nothing the level of "Try to do a slow Rumba to a fast Evanescence song. Good luck!" in this week's list.

It sounds like a great track for a Paso Doble. |

It sounds like a great track for a Paso Doble. too slow - not enough oomph in the music imo |

Looking forward to Claudia most of all those, but can see everybody else working bar Ore and Louise. Although that might just be because I hate "Explosive". Horrible cheap-sounding ersatz crap.

Really? I don't think it's too slow at all. I think it sounds very strong and powerful, and that's what a Paso Doble should be like.

No it's in 12/8, absolutely fine for a Viennese Waltz. Couldn't do a waltz to it as it would be too fast but for a VW is fine.

we have a hip hop mix of this at school and on listening to it can see how they can alter it now

Doesn't need to be altered at all, the Frank Sinatra version is in the right time already. The way I hear it in my head VW just fits
Must look up a couple of the songs as can't quite place them.the recommended tempo for foxtrot is 28-30bpm for Viennese waltz it is 58-60bpm |

the bpm will have to be altered for VW it is too slow in its original state for a VW

Had a look at all the others and not too bad overall, think Rinder and Greg have got the short straws. Seriously disappointed in Greg's music as I love the QS and that is one horrible song!!

I think it needs to be slowed down, but in any case it just has completely the wrong feel for a VW.
