yeah they aren't hiding the favouritism for Louise and Kevin are they, I think Claudia is owed about 3 traditional pieces of music!!
It's not fair. Traditional music for their AT, and now this. They ought to be drawn to dance second, having been at the end last week. But I'm wondering if Greg might get a dead cat bounce leaving Ore v Louise in the dance-off. We'll need a few ties for that to happen.

I think "Hey Mickey" will work fine for Claudia. For me the one with the short straw is Greg, not keen on the song and certainly not for a Quickstep.

I like Louise & Kevin and, though not directly their fault, the music favouritism is becoming more than blatant now.

Anyhow, talking of Bond, I would love to see the pros do a Blackpool Results Show samba to this:

I think it would be phenomenal!

Quickstep and Charleston music should be swapped around.

Apologies if this has been posted before, but this is the paso music with Trent dancing a paso (is it me or do they do a movement that looks like he is dragging her by the hair or am I misunderstanding? (He obviously isn't.) Because that is horrible - or it might be me seeing things .) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmuW-XpO2kM

I think the song choices stink, particularly for Greg. And I bet the people with the right music will also get the best staging. But the show is what it is, I should be used to it. No point expecting it to be fair suddenly. I suppose we are going to see a real battle for top, aren't we, between Danny and Louise, both on the big stage with perfect music for them. It's probably a finale preview. Plus no question that it's a huge advantage to have stage experience to do Blackpool, over sports, politics or presenting, no question. So we might at last see who of Danny and Louise is going to win, or just possibly who might stake their claim to be the third person in the final.

Mel B did a samba to Spice Up Your Life in DWTS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBYPHsr7T_8

I wonder how she felt when she heard that band murdering her song.
They may have murdered her song - but it would be in keeping as she totally murdered that samba!: She looked three sheets to the wind!!!

How on earth did that get 29 - incidentally, the HIGHEST score of the night???

They live on a different planet on DWTS. If Strictly bastardises dances, then DWTS pummels them into non-existence.

Thanks for that link to the Aussie DWTS. I agree that the choreography was awful. He pulls her by the hair and then strips her, just ugh! Nonetheless I'm always glad to see Trent. I hate this song Explosive. Not looking forward to a frenzied paso given the crap song.

To be honest, I'm not seeing how the choice of music for Louise's paso could be considered either perfect or evidence of favouritism.

This pseudo-classical track is far from traditional and I admit to being unfamiliar with it until yesterday. There are other far more well known and popular music choices for the dances this week which seem to me more audience friendly. I saw it mentioned that Emma Bunton danced to it and when I looked her dance up on YouTube, I was underwhelmed by the music.

Yes, Louise got traditional music for her AT but her foxtrot song was awful, having previously been used on Strictly for a Cha Cha and her Charleston music didn't work for me either.

Danny had great music for his quickstep and a more traditional sound for his paso; Robert Rinder had songs which suited his quickstep and foxtrot the past couple of weekends.
As for Ed, apart from his week one waltz, he has been given dances, themes and music where he could bring a fun or showy element and this has made it much easier for him to do an entertaining performance and pick up votes.

All couples get what they are given and have to work with it and I feel that everyone has had some difficult choices and some good choices.

I'm not Kevin's biggest fan, but to be fair to him, if anyone can make this work for a paso in Blackpool, he can. I don't think he's ever done a bad Blackpool routine. I remember last year everyone was worried about 9 to 5 for Kellie and then it was a massive step forward for her. He does get 'putting on a show'.

wonder if Ore's dance is wrong?? and it should be foxtrot but that is no v.waltz
Doesn't sound good does it but every week we have what most would consider the wrong music for the dances.

Looking forward to Blackpool.

Two threads is confusing. Anyway anyone listen to the Bond track and determine it's suitability for a paso? I will give it a listen when I get home.
I'm surprised the mods haven't locked one.

I and another FM both opened two music threads and mine was immediately closed.

What a fair and unbiased first post N_G1 - a veritable rarity around these parts nowadays...

I predict 4 tens and if they dont get them I will show my bare arse in Debenhams window
Well everyone on here's been predicting this with absolute certainty every week since Hallowe'en, so I guess it has to finally happen some time...

No obviously poor song choices are jumping out at me this week everyone seems to have suitable music for the dances they got and stand half a good chance if they pull it off on the night

God it's so boring as well it just goes on and on and on. If we didn't have to lose one of our lady pros to get his wife I'd really like to get Trent back though. He is much missed.

It'll probably be for some dance that anyone who isn't part of that dancer's fanbase thinks is totally over-rated that I can predict c.f Matt Di Angelo's waltz and Lisa Snowden's ccc in the series six final.

cannot believe how Louise and Kevin get it in the neck for getting favoured with the music choices and their Paso music is awful all I can see when I hear it is the dreadful paso of Emma Bunton. Funny how the recent music and costume choices for Rinder are ignored, and besides last weeks choice Danny and Oti have had great music and back to a classic charleston this week (puttin on the Ritz was written as one not a quickstep)

Thank you for your kind welcome. I've been a lurker here for a while and finally decided to take the plunge into posting.

I hope to stick around, sanity permitting!

Generally I'd agree with you , but this time the song is spot on for Cloudier . Wasn't it a cheerleader type song in the original video ? So ,opportunities for minor gymnastics in there as well as lots of bounce and bop .
Hopefully though(if she stays in) they let her grow up for the last few weeks and give her suitable music for each dance.

Claudia and AJ will be dancing the Jive to ‘Hey Mickey’ by Toni Basil

Danny and Oti will be dancing the Charleston to ‘Puttin’ On The Ritz’ by Gregory Porter

Ed and Katya will be dancing the Jive to 'Great Balls of Fire’ by Jerry Lee Lewis

Greg and Natalie will be dancing the Quickstep to ‘Hand Jive’ by Sha Na Na

Judge Rinder and Oksana will be dancing the Salsa to ‘Spice Up Your Life’ by Spice Girls

Louise and Kevin will be dancing the Paso Doble to ‘Explosive’ by Bond

Ore and Joanne will be dancing the Viennese Waltz to ‘That’s Life’ by Frank Sinatra
Greg's sounds dire.

Can't see Rinder going with that, or indeed Balls. Danny and Ore seem to be getting the best deal - vote friendly dances to vote friendly music. Explosive seems to have no lyrics or story? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiaOFOMPOBc
