So it would appear Denny the Devil didn't stab anyone but it was two kids and one stabbed the other

Interesting subject for EE to tackle

I wonder if it will make Denny change his bullying ways or if he will tool up

I certainly think it will be a very interesting story

Quite! I am glad they didn't show the actual stabbing as I think it might have glamourised it in a way.

If the storyline makes kids think twice then jobs a good un

I wonder if Will will be involved in the storyline?

Yeah I agree I think just the he say it was mentioned was able to portray the seriousness of the situation as well as having it come out of the blue without any spoilers

Maybe could have be a witness? He is played by the shows best young actor so more Will the better

If it's no one we know, what's the point exactly?

I think they are concentrating on the possible after affects to third parties rather than the actual victim which is a pretty unique angle to take the story

I agree, it's an interesting subject matter and it feels close to home for me because I went to a crappy school where stabbings happened on occasion.
And it's especially interesting as Denny's old man did get stabbed to death after all (RIP Dennis ), so this incident should affect Denny more than most children.
I'd like to see this story tackled from those two perspectives - do you take a knife to school for self-defence? And how does it affect a child who has already lost a relative to knife crime?

This sounds interesting, I was wondering if they were going to elaborate more when Sharon mentioned it tonight as it seemed too serious to be just a passing remark

Unfortunately topical and prevalent as the Libby actress will testify. I hope it's not too close to home for her on set.

Could be a decent storyline

It would be good to get a reaction from Jay as he got stabbed when he was younger.

I also went to a crappy school, and although a stabbing didn't happen in my time at the school it has been known to happen, and bullying was rife at the school and in fact Ofsted or whatever the inspectorate is called failed the school on that basis.

I agree that the subject matter is interesting although I'm not convinced we'll here much more about it as it was merely a plot device to to get Philth to relax his attitude to Jay

Yes that's true, that was a while ago, wasn't that just after, or before his father died?

Cool. Maybe we can swap school stories some time and share our experiences in attending an under-performing school .

In my school, we had everything from racism, bullying, violence, homophobia, drug use - you name it. And the teachers weren't much better either.

You're probably right about the storyline being a plot device though. It would be just like EE to ignore a potentially thought-provoking story like this.

I am happy to discuss anything with you Teeks.

And as for homophobia I can give you chapter and verse on that, fighting your way through the glue bags on the way to school and trying to avoid them in the grounds so not to get accused of them being yours. Oh yes I could go on but won't you may get bored.

This could be a Decent Storyline for Denny

Sounds like a good storyline not having actual chaeacters involved in the incident. Just because they're characters in the show doesn't mean that other people in Walford don't have dramatic days. Stuff like this can really shake people just because it'd in their area.

I missed the episode so I don't know how big of a deal they made it, but it's good that there exists life outside the main cast. Stops it feeling too insular and actually helps ensure the more sensationalist stories don't stick out like a sore thumb

I hope they do it from that perspective too. Children being exposed to violence has huge repercussions for the rest of their lives and EE has become really blase to the aftermath of death/murder etc.

I think she has been off work and only returned just after the loose women interview.

Circumstances were a little diff but yes would be hard for her to be around

I am suprised you can remember your school days to be honest.

I think being a kid at school nowadays is a lot worse than it was 20yrs ago

BIB I can't really argue that one way or another, all I can tell you is I had an awful time at school and absolutely hated it, my school was not a happy place to be or conducive to learning

I'm thinking maybe Denny gets hold of a knife for himself for protection? He seems so keen to play the stereotypical Mitchell I can see him doing so to establish himself as a tough kid at school.

It was early 2008 so a bit before Jase's death. IIRC he was stabbed in the leg by a member of a gang he'd been hanging about with.

Yes I remember the story line very clearly just wasn't sure of the timing it is a long time ago, the old brain is not as sharp as it once was LHolmes
