How on earth did this thread go from Laura and Giovanni falling out to Cliftons?
Anyhow, it was most likely a lovers' squarrel... ![]()

the judges need to stop worrying about getting a Clifton in the final by whatever means, and start marking in accordance with the performance.
do I like the Cliftons ..no, should there be three professionals on SCD from the same family...no. are the judges biased in their markings ..yes. about time the show was given a total revamp and stop this ridiculous marking in favour of a judges favourite. since when was it ok to have a celebrity who works with one of the judges and all of a sudden develops wonderful ballet arms Darcey🤔🤔 |

It was pretty obvious when Laura did her leaving speech with that tacked on 'oh and thanks Giovanni' at the end that they weren't exactly best friends forever. I don't think DWTS would want Giovanni TBH. If it's true though that Laura was reluctant to film those awful pre dance VTs then good for her
![]() The body language was very uncomfortable to watch and the tacked on thanks to Giovanni was about as friendly as the way you might thank the postman for delivering a parcel. ( not that they do nowadays, it's usually a courier who throws in into the nearest recycle bin ). I agree regarding the VTs. Even though she would have known they existed, with her being a huge Strictly fan, still good for her not wanting to get too bogged down with them. Perhaps she, sensibly, wanted to have more training time and less faffin about time. |

Did Laura and Giovani ever fall in? If not then how would they fall out? I'm not sure she liked him very much. She's seems a bright and witty lady and, well, Giovani doesn't seem such a bright spark. I'm not a Gio fan ...

The story has changed now to Laura bombarding Gio with texts.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...e-Dancing.html Sounds like most things 6 of one and half dozen of the other. |

Rather have Trent back personally. His choreography was better.
![]() I never really picked up on the 'Laura & Gio thing'. However, if its true she never really liked him, I wonder who her ideal partner would have been. Probably Aljaz. |

It could be that she she actually was hard to work with. But this is daily mail, so anything they publish has maybe a pinch of truth in it, and mostly just made up bs.

... and describing her as a "bully". Someone really does have it in for Laura.
It might make it a problem at the end of the series when they all come back together at the final. I liked Laura but hope she didn't play a part in leaking the original story, we don't need to know and it comes off as a bit unprofessional (if she did). There is always the case though that it is all being blown up out of all proportion by some inside 'informer' out to make some money. |

I guess whoever 'leaked' Lauras side of things may not have done her any favours as it was inevitable someone would do the same for Giovanni.

She was writing a blog on the series for some magazine or other - Glamour, I think - which I was reading online.
Last time I looked, it had not been updated for the week she was eliminated! ETA still not updated: http://www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/cel...e-dancing-blog |

I suspect that the original story came from her camp and that the latest update is a response from someone closer to him. Sounds like the gloves are off now
I thought they seemed to get on well and had a good relationship - at least until the weekend when they left the show when she seemed very pissed off with him. I'm sure the papers take a kernel of truth and run with it - eg I doubt they 'hated' each other This will make things super awkward for the finale |

The original Sun article says 'Gio got frustrated with Laura over-analysing everything and not playing the PR game . . . She didn't like filming videos and didn't promote their pairing like other couples did, which is vital to win votes.'
Which I would say is true. I thought I sensed some frustration from Giovanni and felt some myself as a supporter wanting them to go as far as possible in the competition but can well understand now why Laura held back. All she wanted to do was take part in a show she loved, learn to dance, further her career and make friends along the way. To show people the real her. I would say we only saw her truly relaxed before and on the launch show. She then had to deal with and overcome completely unfair negativity in her professional and private life. They both worked hard and had a good run despite Laura having to battle injury and I hope she feels proud of what she achieved on the show. She's now moving on to her play that runs from January and Gio continues on Strictly and quite possibly the tour. I'll enjoy rewatching my favourite dances of theirs, it doesn't bother me they're not best mates, people who work well creatively together and have on screen chemistry don't always get on well backstage! I'm now just hoping Daisy doesn't get dragged in to any speculation. |

Irrespective of the source...........Giovanni is an annoying pro.....give Gorka more air time please!! Funny because last year I found his stumbling over pronunciation, and cheeky smile quite charming, but this year I have found his mouth smiles and his eyes dont!!
However, on both Saturday's airing and Sunday's show, it was absolutely clear that something was wrong between them, I commented on it at the time to my hubbie......Laura looked like she was struggling to smile, like she didn't want to be with Giovanni at all.....in fact she seemed relieved when they were voted out and visibly relaxed for their last dance. They're out and I've forgotten about them already but their body language over the weekend spoke volumes. Can I throw in a wish for Tristan to return, please

I'm sure they had some fiery disagreements but that's a very different thing. And as for the sources comments on Laura not being a good dancer out of hold, well she's a novice and as a Strictly Pro it's Gio's job to teach celebs of all abilities so what is their point? I believe Laura had lots of potential but regardless he'd need far more patience with someone less talented. I'm not suggesting he wouldn't have but like I say his sympathetic source isn't doing him any favours at all. |

I would like that too, Nina, if it weren't for all the following/unfollowing on SM. She absolutely would have known it would be picked up on as I believe she is media savvy.
So she obviously wanted to convey some message or another.

Yes and hasn't done Giovanni any favours. Bullying and abuse are strong accusations which I don't believe for a moment and which Laura will challenge I expect.
