That is most definitely what is going on in my view. What have either Giovanni or Laura got to gain by criticising each other? Nothing. Whereas there are clearly some who have a very bitter and vindictive reason to discredit both Giovanni and Laura. Hell hath no fury.

I think the implication that Georgia is behind it quite ridiculous
![]() I'd say you couldn't make it up but it's of no surprise to me that people are blaming Georgia. Actually, if we are clever, I think we could find a way to blame her for the Clifton hate and possibly even Ed still being in the competition and better dancers losing out. |

I was waiting for this. Surprised it took until page 3 actually

![]() Laura doesn't seem to have a problem with Dan's story and looking at his tweets, it seems to have come from her side. She's upset about the second story which has probably come from someone on Giovanni's side. It's a shame this has been made public at all. Personally I think Laura and Gio got on fine, but obviously something went a miss at the end. Laura not thanking him on twitter, when she has through the series and then unfollowing him, following him, unfollowing and then following him again are obvious signs that not all is well. I wouldn't be surprised if she felt like he took the spot light off her in their last dance nor would I be surprised if she was upset that her experience on the show was overshadowed by the break up of GG. |

Come on now, Lou. We've always got along just fine on here and hopefully, will continue to do so but there is no way your post wasn't directed towards Georgia.

The Sun story didn't come from Laura. Dan Wootton's tweets say that he wrote the story and put it to Laura's PR, and also to the Strictly press team, two days ago for their comments, which is standard practice. Laura therefore knew the story was on its way.

There would've been less story had Laura simply thanked him on social media, and then unfollowed him after the series ended. Reading this thread, it sounds like both did some spilling to the tabloids.
Why are there even suggestions that Georgia is in any way responsible?! Ridiculous! |

Any of the professional dancers or BBC Strictly production team or celebrities on the show could be described as 'a source close' to Gio. Anyone actually close to him would not use the name 'Giovanni' but 'Gio' - as to be fair the Sun article did.
The Sun article seemed to have a bit of truth at its heart wrapped around with a thick coating of Dan Wootton's trademark spite and bile. The Mail article is more tricky for both Laura and Gio. Gio's manager Gavin Barker is an old hand who wouldn't handle a press response in the way the Mail source has responded. Equally, that is not the voice of Gio - his English is simply not that good. I hope that Gio gets some good advice on how to deal with this rubbish. The phrase 'undermined Giovanni's skills as a dancer' used in the Mail article sticks out to me for different reasons. ) but lots of the pros (and the presenters/backstage people) call him Giovanni. Not that I think any of them are behind it! (Or maybe they are?! That AJ looks quite machiavellian! ![]() ) |

You have to feel for Laura in this. She started on Strictly in a tabloid feeding frenzy of 'Strictly Love Triangle' headlines. Caused entirely by the show producers' pairing decision.
And is now ending in ANOTHER tabloid feeding frenzy of 'Strictly bullying claims' Not what she signed up for. At all.

I had noticed that during her time on strictly, she was doing other presenting and hosting jobs - even just a couple of days after her injury. I wonder if they fell out because Gio felt she wasn't devoting enough time to training, this could also explain why she wasn't available for filming,

The replies from Dan Wooton have been deleted. What a lovely gentleman he is ... not.
Could never stick this guy.....his 'reporting' is always utter tripe and always falls heavily on the side of nasty assumptions. Unfortunately made popular with repeated visits and back slapping on that stupid woman Lorraine Kelly's 'show' Ugh! |

To be fair though, none had anywhere near the training and experience Alesha had.

Also her earlier tweet in reply to a fan saying " Ref daily mail story ! hope you come out fighting & knock that wimp off his so called stud pedestal in public arena GO GIRL !" With " so far off the truth, there's not even a point in commenting xx" She didn't exactly defend Giovanni did she? Or say 'you've got it wrong, he's a good guy.' |

That's how I read the situation as well. On Caroline's Instagram account she posted some videos of the three of them out one evening just before Strictly. I think, and may be entirely wrong, that Caroline felt sorry for Georgia when she and Giovanni split because I have no recollection of any friendship between the two of them before that. Same with Daisy and Georgia - they seem to be new BFFs as well.

I got the impression they were more colleagues, signed to the same model or PR agency having a bit of pre Strictly profile boost.
I think Daisy and Georgia are registered with the same modelling agency. Georgia has been a vociferous supporter on Twitter of Daisy. Caroline doesn't seem to have been all that vocal (in social media terms!) of anyone. Wise woman!! |

I couldn't warm to Laura and found her as boring to watch as Rachel Riley and Kirsty Gallagher. These tall girls, as with Daisydo seem to struggle yet Alesha Dixon, who also being tall, was able to fit herself into the Latin.
Laura, Alesha & Rachel 5'5'' Daisy 5'8'' The only tall one among them is Daisy. |

Laura's Strictly was very stop/starty. It would just get going and then something else would derail it - but I think the injury was the final straw. Possibly just when she could dedicate more time to training she was medically unfit to do so. I think the whole thing was just 3 months of frustration, which is very sad. |

Well yes, but Laura has pretty much confirmed the Sun story now though I think. By specifically saying that it is the latest story in the Daily Mail, and not the original story in the Sun, which is lies.

Pro dancers do have a history of getting testy when they think they are short changed on training time <side eye to Brendan and James>, but for most of them they just have to grin and bear it. It's a very lucky pro who bags a celeb with no outside commitments (although I think Giovanni had that last year with Georgia?) and certainly 2 years on the trot would be unlikely.
Laura's Strictly was very stop/starty. It would just get going and then something else would derail it - but I think the injury was the final straw. Possibly just when she could dedicate more time to training she was medically unfit to do so. I think the whole thing was just 3 months of frustration, which is very sad. It is probably a misunderstanding on both sides, fuelled by frustration as you say. Or it is nothing at all ....tabloids are not the fountain of truth ! |
