Cookworks mini oven
i decided to get one of these mini ovens, my Halagen oven have died after 4 years, so not too bad, but it did take up a lot of space, mainly because there on one place I could put it due to the lid opening.
Anyway, I decided to get a Cookworks mini oven, I maybe I made the wrong choice, I should have got the one above. I thought this one have three settings, top and bottom element on, top element only or bottom element only, but there is no bottom element only, just a blank space on the switch. this is where the problem is, I tried to bake some bread in it, but the top of the bread burnt because of the top element, I could try and put some foil on top of the bread part way through cooking. but I really do not want to do that with everything. Do anyone else have one of these ovens and if so do they have the same problem? It grills well , I could return it and say it is not working as it should and get a refund or the next oven up. i suppose. I am going to get an oven thermometer today and see if the temperatures are what they are suppose to be. |

Basically any oven that isn't a fan oven is going to have heat distribution problems.
Food next to the burners will cook faster. |

Food next to the burners will cook faster. the problem is the way the elements are placed, in a normal electric oven they would normally be placed under the side panels but this one is on the top and on the bottom, if the top could be switched off it would be fine. I should have got the one above it to be honest, only another £20, more control over elements and a fan oven. I got it because being on my own it is a waste using the big gas oven just for me, thought it may save money, i think the halogen did over the years. I got myself a cheap oven thermometer and it tells me that the oven is 30 degree hotter than the dial says, but I think that is due more to direct heat from the top element, turn the oven off and the temp still goes up until the top element cools down. I will make some more bread later and do a few changes. Thanks for the reply again. |
