Actually you said you didn't really want a discussion about the show.
Regardless, so long as nobody releases any spoilers (as you've stated in the title) I don't see the harm of a discussion. ![]()

Looks to me like you're just one of those people who completely misunderstood the ending.
And you've somehow drawn a different conclusion entirely? |

The only conclusion I drew from Lost was that it's entire show run has as much weight and relevance as season 9 of Dallas.

I remember the outrage and horror on here at the ending.

I'm up to episode eight of series one so far, the best line of the show so far was when Charlie stood on the beehive and then fell through it which sent the bees scattering everywhere and attacking everybody, Kate takes off her top and says to Charlie that it was full of bees and he replies that it looked full of C's to him, I wonder if Evangeline Lilly & Dominic Monaghan were already dating by then as that's one cheesy chat up line

I got bored somewhere in season 3, and like a fickle lover I abandoned it... For Arrested Developement. Which was far more worth a ride. Why did I keep going for at least 3 seasons? I kept kidding myself it was worth the ride.

In the spirit of not discussing the details of the show like the OP originally suggested, I 'll just post the link to the Channel 4 promo ad that had me desperate to watch Lost in the first place.
Love it, love it, love it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgI5t7Tn9Q0 OP- hope you enjoy working your way through all the seasons. Lots to enjoy. I fondly remember the aaargh moment at the end of every episode when it ended on a massive 'What the..?' and I nknew I'd have to wait a week, or worse, a year! Although I don;t regret watching it all, I'd enjoy watching the above promo 40 times in a row more than ever having to watch the final episode again. |

I enjoyed rewatching Lost in chronological order, as a very dedicated fan had re-edited all 101 episodes to put them in time order - no flashbacks. JJ Abrams approved apparently.

What particularly annoyed me about the finale was I would watch it on RTE 2 where it was sponsored by Lucozade for one series, whose bumpers were theories of what the show was actually about. At the time I never thought any of them would turn out to be correct, but as it turned out they'd guessed it years in advance.

I watched it from the start and enjoyed the first 2 1/2 seasons but started to get a bit fed up with it during series 4 but I stuck with it and enjoyed the last couple of seasons. It had its flaws like everything but in the end there's a reason why it appears in many alltime TV show lists - it was a very good tv show.
Like the OP I spotted the box sets on Sky (which was fortunate as I'd been thinking of buying the box set from Amazon for £50😀 and am now rewatching it from the start. I'm currently upto ep 15 in S1 and it's like meeting an old friend/relative again. (Hopefully I won't regard S4 as that Uncle I ignore at Xmas!) |

I remember staying up all night so I could watch the finale at 5am or what ever time it was on, I know I like a show when I'm willing to do that.
Might give it another watch soon |

I enjoyed the first two series but then started to twig that the show didn't actually have a cohesive plot and that they were making it up as they went along.
I stopped watching completely when:

Lost was the first TV series I got hooked on, it was the first time anything on TV became 'must watch' and was the first show I bought series box sets for. I also spent hours after each episode reading and discussing various theories about the show online.
Between seasons I would re-watch season 1 in preparation for season 2, re-watch season 1 and 2 in preparation for season 3 all the way up until its final season. However I haven't watched a single episode since the season 6 finale. The way it ended left a sour taste in my mouth and has killed any love I once had for the show. |

How I wish I could go back and relive all the mysteries and revelations for the first time! I’m currently coming to the end of my third watch of the series. I missed the boat first time round but started watching on Netflix two years ago and it has steadily grown into my favourite series of all time. The first season is my favourite – among the best television episodes ever in my opinion – when it was pure storytelling with just the subtle hints of Sci-Fi, and intriguing mystery throughout. Later seasons leaned more on Sci-Fi, at some stage you could say that too many clever ideas were thrown at it – but it never jumped the shark for me. After all, Lost is clearly a show that requires suspension of belief. If you go in with this attitude, as I did, you will find it constantly thrilling, hugely enjoyable and occasionally shocking.
Every episode ends with a cliff-hanger or a revelation. When the credits roll, especially in later seasons, you’ll feel like you immediately want to discuss it with someone! Finally the ending: now I know the reaction to this was very, very split, but for me it was perfect. I’d be interested to know what you think. |

OTOH, Lost is such a dog's dinner that perhaps "suspension of belief" IS the right attitude to have after all!
