Hi

Seems ages ago but I remember just before Michael Moon was killed off, when he was sat in his armchair of doom, he was sat listening to some loud classical music as he was planning.

I don't suppose anyone can remember what the music was?

Thanks
Kyle

I have no idea but I am now dying to know if you require it for some dastardly plotting of your own?

Well, it was only an idea at the minute!

I can't remember the music but it won't be impossible to find out what it is if anyone has a clip. I loved those scenes of evil Michael sat in his chair. One of the only decent things about Eastenders in 2013.

That chair always reminds me of The Matrix.

Great Michael compilation here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wn_SGuLHpXc

@1.21 minutes in: "You are an acolyte! You serve me!"

Well I was a fully paid up member of the Church of Michael Moon!

I'm convinced Steve John Shepherd was writing Michael's scripts himself by the end - he has an extensive and unusual vocabulary himself, and that definitely seeped into Michael's dialogues during his last year on the show.

I loved Michael and his Armchair of Doom™. He was one of the few shining lights in Lorraine Newman's comatose era.

Happy days indeed! Sadly missed - can't believe it's been 3 years since his demise!

I loved Michael and his Armchair of Doom™. He was one of the very few shining lights in Lorraine Newman's comatose era.
Very true, he was. Only reason why I watched then. Haven't watched EE since David Wicks left - no one can come close to those two for me.

The best male arrival in Walford of the 21st century - and all down to SJS's unique input into the character.

He should have been the one to take down the Philth not with brawn but with brains.

But no - like all the rest of the classic characters he was needlessly killed off.

Well done TPTB.

Michael was a fascinating character played by the brilliant Steve John Sheppard and I have always been mesmerised by his powerhouse performances. The character was a psychopath but we understood why he wasn't a normal bloke and we learnt a lot about his history especially his childhood. The death of his mother hit him hard and it changed him a lot.

I thought it was a genius move pairing Janine and Michael together and I thought SJS and Charlie had good chemistry and I loved their scenes especially their wedding day episode and I learnt so much about Michael and his motives. I was saddened when they killed off Michael but the final confrontation between him and Janine was brilliantly acted and very powerful/dark.

Great to see all the Michael love on this thread. It's a testament to Steve John Sheppard that we're still appreciating his performances as Michael 3 years on during what was a very forgettable time of EE.

His line to Janine I always remember, something like "I had to labour away over your carcass" (having sex with her)

I wish he'd escaped with Scarlett. A character i'd have welcomed back any time and as interesting as he was i still dont think we'd seen the best of him, sadly the actor wanted killed off.

I always remember his description of Joey Branning

So apt.

I would argue that he made the biggest impression in a very short time since the late great Lou Beale.

He and Janine were the only things worth watching in that appalling era - they carried the entire show.

TPTB wanted Michael to be just another cheating, wideboy womaniser but Steve was eventually given free reign with his input into the Sith Lord - and transformed the character into something incredible, he read people like a human MRI scanner, and his one liners were just fantastic as he stalked and sneered his way around the square like a human Praying mantis.

A brilliant creation - so well done to SJS.

Agreed entirely. Michael was a fascinating character with fantastic depth. The scenes with Eddie in particular were unbelievably moving and SJS deserves massive credit for his work in developing the character. It was hugely disappointing to see him go and I personally thought TPTB missed a trick by not having him commit suicide after Janine had taken his daughter from him and driven him into the ground - a move which would have referenced his own mother's passing at the same stage of her life. A character sadly missed!
