Ken's son Daniel
Do Tracy and Peter know about him being Ken's son or not?

Yes they do. Apparently Peter announced to Kens other long lost son Lawrence that Daniel existed, so I assume Tracy knows also. Online it says that Simon asked who Daniel was once, but was not specifically told that he was Ken's son.

Whilst I don't remember it being mentioned, yhere is no reason for them not to know.
Ken was in a full relationship with Denise (Daniel's mum) through most of the pregnancy and for some months afterwards. They even lived together for a whike so ir was hardly a secret. Tracy was still living close by, she'd remember it. In fact, iirc, Ken gave her a very small birthday present one year, perhaps her 18th, saying he couldn't afford more due to having a new baby which was Daniel. |

Yep Daniel lived with Ken for months after he was born- Ashley Peacock dated the baby's nanny. There's no suggestion Tracey didn't know about him. The 'surprise' is her not knowing what he looks like now.
TBH it was sillier when she didn't immediately recognise her real dad when they brought back Ray Langton that time. ISTR she needed a long explanation of who 'Ray' was, when he was standing in front of her |

It seems to me that Laurence and his son who's name I can't remember were brought in purely as token characters simply because they are both real life sons of Bill
they've come and gone and now have been forgotten most likely never to be mentioned again.. |

Lawrence and James (I think) were complete stunt casting and would never have happened if Roaches real life sons weren't the correct age and Linus (a big star in his own right) hadn't been willing to do it.
I'm sure they'll never be mentioned again, same as Michelle's 'real' son Alex. |

The story was dumb anyway, seeing as Susan Cunningham apparently made no real effort to inform Ken that she was pregnant to his child. At least Daniel had some proper history in the show, seeing as his mother was a character in the 1990s. |

Also, whilst I know times were changing, 1960 was still quite conservative (with a small c) so I find it hard to believe a couple that were dating for only a few weeks would have slept together.

Exactly this. Plus Ken had an immediate sour relationship with the pair of them in a very short amount of time, with James himself even trying to rob Ken and knocking him out before disappearing.

How did Daniel know Ken was ill, none of them would have contacted him.

I hope Daniel is accepted as Ken's son and publicly bestowed with the title of "Daniel-Son". It's only fair.

Yes I was about to say this. Ken and Denise lived together as a couple when Daniel was born, when they then split up Denise left leaving baby Daniel in Ken's care. Ken was a single father to him for a good while (about a year I think) and employed a full time nanny. Denise then returned took Daniel and left for good.
So Daniel was not some illegitimate child the result of a secret affair, of course Ken's other kids knew about him. |

I wondered this
When Peter returned and was trying to make amends with Tracy, she told him to get Ken's address book and start contacting the family so I presume he notified Daniel then. In a further episode Peter said Adam was returning from Canada but no mention of Daniel, but as we know, Daniel had been secretly visiting Ken. |

Teenager of the 60's here, it's more than likely they would have. We just had to keep it secret from our parents more than now.
I get lost off trying to keep up with Ken and his families past now. I think the big change when cintraception becsme fereeely available whick was a few years later so mid 60s. I suspect that teens in the 60s probably did, but not teens of the 50s which is what Ken and Susan were' I'm not saying nobody did it and took the risk, of course they did but I do think it was a lot kess common or usual than Corrie nade it out to be when they introduced Lawrence. |
