Thanks, this sounds excellent. I wonder if they will repeat the earlier Slow Events?
Gomezz, there's nothing like being prepared, your cheese sandwiches will be curled nicely in time for the show. I'm an early prepper too, got my sprouts on the boil for Christmas Lunch - hate hard sprouts

Looks good.
Next slow TV can be a trip on the London Underground in rush hour. Or Christmas Checkouts at Tescos filmed the week before Christmas. |

It says a lot about what has happened in the world when you have to tune into a TV programme to experience a nice journey!

The Snowdon Mountain Railway climb would be a good one to have in this growing group.

I don't think it will be going at full speed on the Severn Valley Railway!
![]() 60103 Flying Scotsman, like all steam locomotives, is now legally limited to 75mph on the main line. However it doesn't usually get up to even this speed nowadays. Generally on the main line it won't exceed sixty. Add in water stops for it to have a drink and it took about four hours to get from Newcastle to Edinburgh in May. A normal East Coast train does it in about an hour and a half. The people that own the new build steam loco 60163 Tornado are apparently thinking about applying for permission to run it at 90 miles an hour. I will be looking out for this programme, it doesn't seem to say exactly when it's on, just sometime at Christmas. |

They should just do canals, in the summertime. None have been as good as the first one.

![]() Unfortunately I'm going out so will have to watch it later. There was a short clip of it on the BBC iplayer, looks good. The driver was explaining how you make it "go". There's a bit more to driving a steam engine than shovelling coal in and pulling the whistle, although obviously there's a fair bit of that involved.

This seems more of a documentary than a go slow.
Not enough outside front shots either. |

Loving it - my great grandfather was a train driver and I like the extra narration and descriptions. What a complicated job they all have.
