OK, so enlighten me here please. I visited the "dancing room" years ago that is in the complex of Blackpool Tower. I have always assumed this is the Tower Ballroom, and that this is what I have been watching on strictly for the last few years. Is it not? If not, where exactly in Blackpool are the Winter Gardens?

Yes, this is what the viewers see on SCD, where the show comes from...The Tower Ballroom.

The Wintergardens is at a different location, quite near, and 250 m from the sea front, almost in the town centre. The building is large and is made up of various venues such as the Opera House, Floral Hall, Spanish Hall, Baronial Hall as well as the renowned Empress Ballroom.

The Empress Ballroom is very special and its the best ballroom in this Country, dancers from all over the World come to dance in this ballroom. Its just magical, nowhere else like it.

Today, it hosts the WDC World Professional Championships so the best couples are selected to compete here from all countries around the world. I am so lucky today to be able to be here to watch this afternoon.

But they did show a clip of it last night, didn't they? Was it AJ who took Claudia there? And the other Claudia mentioned Ed taking his dance shoes(bless!) to watch the pro dancing...... (British Chmpships) I'd have been very surprised if Katya and Neil hadn't gone there - they should have been dancing to uphold their British title.

one of the juniors who won both the U/16 ballroom and Latin at Nationals Mia linnik-holden took part in the strictly group dance at blackpool in 2013 she was a juvenile then, how times move on (she is the daughter of a dancer friend taught)

Saw Ed with Katya and Neil there. Lots of laughter from the bar area ( where there is small practice floor behind the main ballroom) and saw Ed "practising" his jive solo with Katya in fits of giggles. They arrived to see the latter stages of the Am Ballroom and Pro Latin
Ryan and Ksenia announced their retirement from competition after they won Pro Latin

Yes, Bendy. Ryan won and announced his retirement from competition. Loved watching Mia dance, what a classy young lady. Double win so very well deserved.

I saw you mention in another thread that the juniors have also stopped competing at the Tower ballroom . So is it no longer used for dancing competitions and is that a bad omen for its future as regards dancing ?

No, they don't dance there anymore as there are too many couples competing, the Tower is not big enough.
