True, but maybe she could have changed Pierce and helped him to become a better man? I don't know, I like a good old redemption storyline.

Certainly would have a nice change to the usual "evil boyfriend/husband" plotline.

Women who attempt to "change" controlling abusive men usually end up dead.

My only problem with this story is that Paddy and Rhona are going to get back together. I like Paddy, but don't like Rhona.

Has he really started abusing her? I thought he was only being controlling? Haven't caught up on last night's episode to be honest. Of course, if Pierce is mentally/physically abusing her, then she is in real danger and it's hard to change someone who resorts to violence towards women. I was referring to the part about him being controlling.

To be fair though, there are quite a few cases of controlling and abusive men in real life turning their lives around and many wives/partners are happy to forgive them. And we've seen characters in soaps who have had shamefully abusive pasts and been able to move on, our very own Andy Sugden being one of them . So I wouldn't say Pierce is beyond redeemable if he has started abusing Rhona, but he's gonna have a tough time changing his ways that's for sure.

It was just an idea, that's all. The whole plotline feels contrived to me anyway. It's all being set up for Super-Paddy to save the day even though he's been a prat. I'm no fan of Pierce, but it's so predictable where they're taking his character.

Sorry Lea, I've made my mind up. If Marlon gets caught in the crossfire, should be it.

I think it's perfectly plausible to imagine a scenario where Pierce strikes a deadly blow against Paddy, who then falls on top of Marlon and crushes him to death instantly .

Two birds, one stone.
