Should we be surprised at this point? This new EP blokes goal seems to be to make it as lame as possible.

I just realised that the spoilers are for the beginning of December. We still have no idea what the big storyline at Christmas day will be, although Jamie Borthwick said it is low-key.

I'm sure he has some hard-hitting storylines but I think we need to be patient. The BBC wouldn't have hired him if they weren't happy with his vision for the show. He was really successful in the Arches especially the Helen/Rob storyline. Also he used to be story producer in EastEnders many years ago but I think we need some realism back.

Alex Lamb left EastEnders last month and maybe things will pick up when the new story producer's work is shown onscreen.

I think Denise and the Mitchells have a big role this Christmas. Denise is likely to give birth on Christmas Day (premature labour), Phil is slowly dying but Denise reveals the truth to him?

That would be my guess too. But would they really have a big Mitchell storyline at Christmas AND New Year? R&R's exits are apparently on New Year's Day.
