Perhaps I'm just wanting the show to be back at its best as was seen IMO during the 2000s, Phil financially well off and owning 'the square' along with his rivalry mainly with Ian, but also with Steve. Ian with his businesses, eventually being overstretched and him going bankrupt, the rivalry with Steve over many things - women/money/etc.

That just isn't being fulfilled right now, and whilst he isn't exactly in fighting fitness as he was then, and the same goes for Ian, they are both at least a link to that past that just has no replacement just yet.”

I agree with what you say. Vincent has been a complete flop in the hard man role and nobody over the years has been able to better Phil when it comes to scheming and villainy. All the other villains/hardmen they've brought in over the years have been a disappointment or just too panto (Derek/Gavin).

If Phil survives it will be interesting to see if it changes his character at all. He could be like Scrooge and turn into Mr Nice Guy

I'm guessing Ronnie is the match and it's up to Jack to do it the Mitchell way and step up and help The family, which he probably won't be happy about.

I suspect you are right it will be Ronnie however, if it is Roxy, then it is down to Glenda - who would be Roxy's next of kin. Given Glenda's history with Phil, she could take a lot of persuading to save his life. Not least that he affectively robbed Glenda of her daughters over the last 5 years.

Whichever sister it is, Glenda would not be happy about saving Phil - or would she? Ultimately, with Ronnie the final decision would lay with Jack. So you could have both Glenda and Jack struggling with it - and he is the regular cast member which is why it will probably be Ronnie. He cares nothing about Roxy and he is not her next of kin.

It is quite wrong that this is where the story seems to be going considering in real life it probably wouldn't work out so conviently.

Any reality involving the Philth's storylines parted company when Grant first left and TPTB decided to worship him as their little invincible bald God.

Why can't he just DIE ffs?
