Did anyone watch this, first of 3 stories? Thought it was good, easy detective story to follow and a great two hours.

Yep enjoy this very much. Iain Glen is back as his fantastic, gravel voiced self. He's still a bit of a sort good storyline, I like the addition of the Manc cousin and the actress playing Gail is beautiful .
Line of the night : would you like a cup of herbal tea? Not unless you want a punch in the face

I almost didn't bother as read a review today of the very first episode from 2010 saying it was rubbish. Glad I did though. There were 3 episodes then, 3 in 2013 and there are three this year. Haven't seen it before though, as far as I can recall.

Watching on catch up. Is Gail's mother dead or alive?

I presume this is based on the life of Stockton born cycle frame maker Jack Taylor and his crime-fighting adventures in and around Teesside, chasing criminals down on one of his own finely crafted braised and lugged cycles.

Have this recorded to watch later. Love this show. Iain Glen is fab, my only problem is he has more of a Dublin accent than Galway. My Mum was from Galway so I am well versed on that accent.

Yep, died after being knocked down. Gail is having visions of her now.

Very much doubt it as it's set in the Republic of Ireland and the title character is a former Garda officer.

don't be daft, it's english referee jack taylor, been in hiding since the 1970s when the netherlands issued a death warrant on him when he awarded w. germany an iffy penalty in the 1974 world cup final.

he came out of hiding after plastic surgery in a quest to emulate his hero, and became a neil diamond tribute act , but fell foul of a rival gang of neil sedaka impersonators..........the story continues..........

Ah, we all remember the dreadful Sedaka-Diamond turf wars in the 70's.
Certainly a lot of Bad Blood, erm, spilt on the , err... Brooklyn Roads, that's it.

No other comments of the second episode yet? Strong indeed wasn't it. Excellent acting all round. I guessed it would be the son from the start just not the reason. Does this mean that Kate and jack are over? Hope not.

Galway looks magnificent. Ive never been but quite fancy it now.

Line of the night : jack to priest - haven't u got an alter boy to go fiddle with?

Third one last night, think that's it for this run. Enjoyed them all, some excellent acting. Hope it returns and that jack and Kate get back together.

All three were excellent - I did wince a bit during the second episode. Shame they have finished.

Judging by the titles it appears to be a German co-production.

Not quite Irish noir, it's dark enough, but they can't resist a gag or two.
