If it wasn't for Gary her granddaughter would be dead and as a result his own Mother got burned so she really owes Gary.

She's such a hypocrite aswell bringing up Gary's past considering her family as FAR from perfect.

Gail never had any time for the Windasses from the start when they did her then husband Joe out of a new kitchen that he fitted and they refused to pay for. That set a long-running feud going between Gail and Anna, and also David and Gary. It's all mellowed somewhat in recent years but Gail's always been someone who enjoys looking down her nose at someone, even when her own family has been just as bad!

She really needs to keep her nose out. Sarah is a grown woman for crying out loud. Gail should mind her own business and worry about her own relationship.

Weird one ...she was very feisty up against ivy back in the day about her and Brian doing as they wished without ivys interference. Now she's doing the same thing herself

She hated Leanne Battersby back in the day too.

Leanne and Nick had to get married in secret because they were scared of her reaction.

And she was absolutely awful to Nick's girlfriend Natasha.

Like Gary intimated, Gail needs to look closer to home for badly behaved young men. The idea that she commends David for being there for his kids Wasn't he going to carry out a murder suicide only a week or so ago and though he failed he still ended up maiming Gary's mum and nearly killing his own daughter

Gail is disgusting and Gary shouldn't have been so patient with her.

Gail's problem is she doesn't think ANYONE is good enough for her kids!!

With Nick she hated Leanne & was horrible to Maria and Natasha!!

With Sarah she never approved of Todd (who was a nice lad at the time, hated Jason, obviously disapproved of both Aidan Critchley & Callum which is fair enough & now disapproves of Gary!!

With David she warmed to Kylie eventually, but still blew very hot & cold!!

The only two I can remember her approving of almost straight away were Tina & bizarrely Carla!!

I suppose with Tina she felt she had to like her especially as she fancied her dad. Although when they first met Gail thought Tina was very rude to her when she saw her in the GP practice where she worked at the time.

As for Carla, I think her glamour and "posh" lifestyle was the attraction - if you remember at Christmas when nick and Carla were at the platt's gailnwas going on about her "canapés" and spiced egg nog like Sally Webster around Carla .

I think to be fair the bond with Tina came from the fact she was peepared to stick by David even though he was in Young Offendersat the time!!

Urrrgggghh, please don't remind me of that DREADFUL Blackburn version of Gail, fawning over Carla, much preferred the version that gave her a good hard slap after she let Nick down!!

Gail liked Scooter but I'm not sure about Luke Ashton and Glen Middleham.

Did Gail ever meet Glen? I remember Martin slinging him out once when Sarah had got him round under false pretences but that's about it!! Luke, I remember the name but not much else!!

To be honest if you had her hair you'd be permanently pissed off too. She can't even see her nose anymore to look down on anyone.

Gail's fallen out with most people over the years, including all her kids, most of their boy/girlfriends, her best friend Alma and even her own Mother whom she didn't speak to for quite some time (even if that was engineered by Richard Hillman ).

I thought it was awful the way she insinuated that Gary was a bad father on the sole basis that he split from the mother of his son. Talk about utter stupidly especially coming out of Gail's mouth.

So I guess the only two boyfriend's of Sarah, Gail has never met (and was mentioned by Bethany) was Roberto and the footballer who was married while in Italy (off-screen).

I can completely understand why Gail never approved of Sarah's relationships with either of the Grimshaw brothers though. Both treated her really badly and Eileen absolutely despised Sarah for some bizarre reason.

Eileen didn't like Sarah while with Todd because she thought Todd was dropping his Oxford University opportunity for her especially after he walked out on his exams.

She still hated (maybe not as much) Leanne when those two got back together for the second time and the third...

I do feel sorry for Gail, she's been lumped with both Kylie and Leanne as daughter in laws, both were very rough and chavvy when they married her sons. Although to be fair to Gail i wouldn't be best pleased if my 17yo son married Leanne Battersby.

Gary is a nice bloke and has been for many years. he was with Izzy for ages, yes they split, as couples do, but remain on good terms. He is always there to help out Izzy, and look after his son. He is good to his family and seems to work hard too. He also hasn't shagged his way through the street! Long term relationships with Izzy and Alya before Sarah. Gail is one to talk with her million husbands and killer son!
