That said, I've never really understood why it has to be shot beforehand, since they have to get a camera inside the taxi for the interview.

I presume because they want that shot guaranteed. They probably don't all walk out in a nice orderly fashion.

Or possibly they do not want it made obvious the boardroom is a television studio, but could you tell that from the outside of the building?

Not everyone would react well - can you imagine the likes of Selina from last year?

I can easily understand the filming beforehand but the obligatory scarves really, really annoy me.

Probably part of the deal to get into Liberty.

my brother and I always point that out. it's ridiculous why they all have to always wear scarves.

Why do they film in a television studio rather than Sugar's prime boardrooms in the likes of the Gherkin, the Shard etc that the show opens and closes with?

I thought that everyone knew that they wear the scarves to hide the fact that they are often wearing differnt clothes from the firing scene

I known that the the taxi scene is filmed in advance for years now.

However, what the candidates says in the taxi tends to be related to what the task was or what happened in the boardroom? Do they film a variety of dialogue?

I'm pretty sure in previous series, the geek in me recognised the Taxi departing from South Mymms Service station too!

I reckon after so many years the taxi drivers must have been at least partly responsible for the failure of some of the tasks as they're so important. Every time candidates are dropped off miles from their target and have to leg it miles up the road, and surely by now one dense driver has taken them the wrong route so they missed the deadline.

Yet not once has a candidate mentioned a taxi driver in the boardroom as even a factor in a failure!

Better than wearing sackcloth and ashes.

Inside the taxi is filmed after the candidate has been fired. Occasionally the candidate looks a bit red-eyed, as if they have been crying.

The walk from the door to the taxi is filmed in advance, and used to be (not sure about now) from Lord Sugar's actual hq rather than the tv studio. The candidates are dressed up for an Antarctic expedition with scarves and long coats.

Again, it used to be that candidates always used to wear the same clothes for the boardroom, which was a problem in Young Apprentice where the candidates were still growing. Can't say I've looked to see if that still applies.
