I had a feeling Claudia would be in the dance off. Her jive was poor and she was very over marked in my opinion, which probably put people off voting for her.

I also wasn't happy that she agreed to go on a donkey ride, how can anyone think that is still okay in this day and age?! I would have refused to do it so that has put me off her and I will no longer be voting for her.

It's about time they stopped these cheesy VT's in between the dances they are totally cringeworthy. I normally tape the whole show and fast forward through all the filler but last night I watched it live, I won't be doing that again!

What was wrong with a donkey ride, for cryin' out loud?

I've not noticed any; "Save the Blackpool donkeys" petitions.
I bet they're better cared for than many.

Are you for real? You don't like Claudia because she went on a donkey ride? Good god, I hope you never re-write The Nativity Story!

!”

Seeing as she's a gymnast and 4 foot 8 she probably weighs the same as a child.

Now, if Eric Pickles went on a donkey ride you might have a point.

Re my earlier post. I never said that I thought the ratings would fall when Ed went, but that the 'interest factor' would fall. His last night's performance is on the front page of the Telegraph today, there is a massive piece in the Times on him and he was trending hugely on Twitter. Regular viewers of SCD will watch whatever but all that extra publicity must surely be making the BBC delighted. Louise/Ore/Danny will never cause the same buzz.

I knew my post would attract this sort of response and I'm not surprised that it has come from you having read the tone of your posts at times on this forum. People choose to vote or not vote for contestants for many reasons so I am entitled to my opinion and I think donkey rides should be consigned to the past like animals in circuses.

I very much doubt that!!!!

I did notice that the donkey owner was careful to say that she was the right weight to go on and the donkey barely moved.

Ed is getting 90percent of votes. While that happens he is going nowhere!

Mine will go to either Ed or Danny, or both! I voted mainly for Greg but also would throw a vote their ways if i enjoyed their dance.

Also regarding donkeys, didn't they get rid of them a few years back and there was a petition to bring back the donkeys? Just something there in the back of my mind about it.

I too know many people who have only watched Strictly because of Ed Balls this year. Many have never watched the show before but follow politics and started watching to see how he does, and they are loving him!

I'm a vegetarian but I wouldn't not vote for someone if I saw them tucking into a steak. I don't suppose Claudia gave it a thought because donkeys and Blackpool go together. As someone said, they are probably very well looked after as animal welfare laws are pretty tight in this Country. If she had gone to Santorini in Greece and sat on one of those poor donkeys, I might have agreed with you.

I think you are being rather harsh on Claudia but that's your prerogative.

I always voted for Greg and Natalie, liked their relationship (despite Nat getting a bit hyper )
Loved the effort and dedication, and always enjoyed his performances.

Probably be voting for Louise and Kevin now as:

Danny and Ore, I can see they are good dancers but just don't connect;
Claudia and AJ, like Claudia but don't really enjoy their partnership;
JR is just too OTT for me
Ed Balls is just annoying now, stompy dancer.

Like Louise and Kevin together and loved their paso.

I have a feeling she is getting votes from ordinary people who think she can dance and comes across as a really nice, genuine person.

I've just read through 25 pages of this thread since the result was posted last evening. I don't normally, but took the time to do so today.

Bloody hell, folks, it's only a tv show! There some folk on here being downright rude to others because of their opinion! And there's some others who are like dogs with bones and targeting FMs because they disagreed with them.

This is the spoiler thread - a mechanism to know the result before the Sunday show. A lot work goes into getting the spoiler, and this series, on several occasions, it's turned into a quagmire of insults and vitriol. This isn't what the spoiler thread is about, it's better than that.

I not endorsing censorship of posting, nor discouraging anyone from posting, but for goodness sake, can we keep it civil?

Yeah.
I suggest eliminating everybody bar Ed.
Replace the others with Ann Widdecombe, Craig Kelly, Kate Garraway, John Sergeant and Gregg Wallace

I can't believe that anyone would object to children having donkey rides in this day and age, or any other day and age for that matter. Are we to ban horse riding too?? Claudia is tiny and donkeys are incredibly strong.
As for Ed, I voted for him because he's hugely entertaining, and actually he has excellent timing and musical 'sense' and does put in a lot of dance content. He also works very hard. So long may he go on as far as I'm concerned. Others will disagree.

Never mind this day & age- this day & her age: watching her being hoiked into that saddle like a 7 year old was cringe-making and worse than any patronising nnyaaawws from Tess.
