Make sure you have a 4G signal.
Go to the dialler and enter *3001#12345#* then tap send. Tap "Serving cell info" Freq Band Indicator will show 20 for 800MHz, 3 for 1800MHz and 7 for 2600MHz |

Worth noting that won't work on the iPhone 7/7 Plus.

I'm guessing and it is only an assumption on my part, that if I am still not seeing a signal at work then I'm out of luck for some 800MHz love today? I'd love to be wrong but it is looking that way at the moment

aren't they only suppose to be turning 700 masts on today? so even if it happens we might not notice anything depending on which masts get turned on first. im sure a mast in London been turned on will have zero affect on me in the north east of England.

Personally I'm looking forward more to seeing the updated map and finding out where the sites are without having to go look for them. |

I was informed the power will be on full from day 1, so the first 700 should already be on full power... wherever they may be...

Doesn't appear to be here (assuming literally anything that can connect to VoLTE can access 800, and not just whitelisted stuff)

So has the coverage map actually been updated?

The iPhone Pluses tend to have better reception than most small to large android phones on 4G. the non-plus iPhones are still pretty mediocre. Not 800.

I noticed that recently too, I know this isn't the best comparison but I was on 4 bars EE on my 6s and someone else with a 6s Plus had 5 bars 3, despite 3 having a lower power on the mast.
Reason my b593 router pulls in -110dBm and do 30/8 Mbps where a phone will show no service. The router will then go right down to -124 and you still have 6/0.5 : ) |

Looks like EE will not be updating the coverage checker today after all.... typical EE or NN as I like to call them (Nothing Nowhere)....
Hi Aaron. Sorry for the wait. There’s been a slight delay to the customer provisioning, while we make some final tweaks. 1/2 2/2 We’ve held off adding the additional 2% 4G to our coverage checker until this has been completed. - Rich. |

That's the thing you gotta love about 4g, how it still pumps out those Mbs even deep into the -120db's, long after 2g & 3g have bitten the dust. Will be awesome when or if the networks raise the power levels on all masts I'd say on most networks you'd be unlucky not to get some sort of signal then.

EDITED..
If you have an iPhone that's anything other than an iPhone 7 or 7+... Make sure you have a 4G signal. Go to the dialler and enter *3001#12345#* then tap send. Tap "Serving cell info" Freq Band Indicator will show 20 for 800MHz, 3 for 1800MHz and 7 for 2600MHz If you have a 7, you're a bit stuffed. field test doesn't work due to new Intel modem. Sim info PDP Context Info GSM Cell Environment UMTS Cell Environment MM Info I've been through the various menus but can't find this screen you describe |

You guys get far too hyped up.. I think EE just loves watching you be disappointed. At least there will at least 3000 8004G masts by Christmas.
Plenty of masts received a software update in the last 24 hours (on top of the announced number), the masts that are upgraded are already on. I've not been told if the public can see them yet i.e. Business or VIP accounts only or what. EE are very strict in not launching unless everything is spot on... they are not Three. It could be they quickly discovered a network issue when it was scaled up from testing, say frequency priority or some weird issue or the provisioning systems have **** themselves and they have had to delay due to this. |

Maybe I'm being stupid but when I launch Field test on my iphone 6 I don't see any option for "serving cell info". I just get
