Now if you're not done by close of play tomorrow then you can say it!

EE will have been planning this event for many months. It will go like clockwork. They will have carefully planned the switch on to the last letter and to allow specific devices only. To allow this surely they would have had to remove all access and then activate a limited range of devices. I'm no expert in this by any means, but you'd be pretty naive to think they're stumbling through this not having a clue what they're doing. It's not their first rodeo!
As far as I have read and digested, 1st December is the day that we will be graced with this extended coverage, and at the last check, it's only the 30th November at time of writing. Quote:
Exactly. Save the accusations until the end of tomorrow!

But Jon, that's not the modern way!
Get incredibly angry and wound up, and scream and shout about it on all forms of social media, that's how things are done nowadays. Waiting a day or two and excercising some patience... get real! Now now now! Waa waa waa! *checks watch* *adds row 347 to the 'EE delayed launches and general f*ck-ups' spreadsheet* As you were, chaps. As you were.... ![]() Edit: I'm going to get slated if by some quirk it gets switched on at 23:59...

You guys get far too hyped up.. I think EE just loves watching you be disappointed. At least there will at least 3000 8004G masts by Christmas.
Plenty of masts received a software update in the last 24 hours (on top of the announced number), the masts that are upgraded are already on. I've not been told if the public can see them yet i.e. Business or VIP accounts only or what. EE are very strict in not launching unless everything is spot on... they are not Three. It could be they quickly discovered a network issue when it was scaled up from testing, say frequency priority or some weird issue or the provisioning systems have **** themselves and they have had to delay due to this. 3000 this Xmas? Are you sure? |

Just checked the difference in signal between my 6S and 6S Plus on same network, same cell. 6S+ signal is just over 10x stronger. Speed is 15mb vs 42mb on the Download. Same account for both sims.

You do need to be on 4G to see details of LTE (which you appear not to be from the references to GSM and UMTS), and then it's the third option

News headlines: 'EE in didn't do what they said they were going to do scandal. Again. For the 85th time. '
Did anyone really expect them to turn this on? Come on, this is EE. You have to add 12 months to all their release dates. It's not that tough EE, it's just 800 4G. The other networks seem to be rolling it out perfectly well. God help them if another network manages to be less crap. |

I did think I'd picked up Band 20 earlier, but it was from when I was testing dual SIM functionality with Vodafone
![]() Gives an idea what it'll be like though. Full scale 4G in the house on Voda, coming from the same physical mast. Effing sweet. (2 bars usually falling down to H+ on EE right now) |

People can be be upset now, but does it really matter? Like the protracted VoLTE testing on 1800 before it was announced, it had to be working to a certain standard before going official.
We can presume something went wrong, not that the person who had to press enter was off sick. Or maybe that's exactly what happened! |

EE's 800 is supporting ESN when it launches so they'd probably quite like to get it right first time + their 4G compared to everyone else is still ahead enough that they can take the time to launch it properly. Their mistake was not waiting until it was fully working and enabled before announcing it but I imagine the pressure was on to get it marketed for Christmas. |

I'm sat at home in front of fire with a strong 800 4g
Oh wait, I'm on Vodafone! I might add I also don't have volte or WiFi calling. I do have a warm glow when I watch that hideous Christmas advert from voda. Let's be honest what are the chances of breaking down in the middle of nowhere on a bus and having a voda data signal? I'm reading this thread with interest as my sim only contract is up in 6 weeks. EE 4g is a bit weak here abouts and hoping 800 may improve things. Down side my phone won't be supported by ee. Oh what to do. Can't check out ee 800 even if it was live round here? |

Jon you are wright I should have waited until tonight.
Perhaps they should have got their ducks in a row and soft launched like they did with VoLTE before singing it from the rooftops, but I'm sure it's EE marketing department that got excited and wanted to announce prematurely. Patience will be rewarded... |
