They do have the coverage they claim.. So it isn't a lie nor misleading.
So where is the 4G800 which is that 2percent extra helping the coverage to go up to 75percent. That is missing from the advert

London,23November2016:

EE Switches on new 800MHz frequency 4G signal to boost superfast coverage to 75% of the UK

Today, EE has also switched on its low frequency 800MHz spectrum on 700 sites across the country, filling in 5,000 square kilometres of 4G not spots overnight and improving indoor signal in 500,000 homes.

Where is that 5000 square kilometers? Still on Twitter advert but not covered

Maybe the sites are all on, in which case the devil is in the detail. They will have boosted the coverage.

It's just that we can't access it yet. Still doesn't make EE liars, does it?!

Jon from 23.11 until now is exactly 2 weeks. It is false to show something on advert that is not on yet. It is there but no access to it which means it is not there. This is may opinion

If it's on, it's on. Did they say you'll personally have access to it?

I know I'm being pedantic here, but the issue seems to be related to VoLTE and not the sites themselves.

Maybe stop bombarding EE with Tweets and just find something else to do until you get the good news.

People are so impatient, I don't understand why they would bombard EE with Tweets because they haven't got voice calls over a specific technology or data on a specific band, give it a bit of time and a bit of a rest georgi, go to a Christmas market or something and chill out, it's a mobile phone that you're moaning doesn't work on a certain frequency or something.

Jon I had an access to it as showed pic from 23.11 band 20 Then I stopped picking up that signal. Before 23.11 there was no service in the house which means no 4G800 until it went live on 23.11 and it vanished. But it is on EE advert. Not good as for me it is false

Complain to the ASA then, however I think you'll find your contract doesn't promise coverage on a certain band in certain places all the time. A temporary period of a couple of weeks implementing something is not going to be high on the ASA's list.

I know that Thine Wonk I just do not like that EE announce 4G800 switch but it is not live?(no access to it) So if it is not on do not advertise it . I have done my christmas shopping btw

Even if they hadn't messed up the launch there's no guarantee your 800 site(s) would have been powered up and available to use, as they only launched 700 sites.

Where I work there are 2 mast 4G800 ready to go but no access to them. Actually the first one was broadcasting it on the 23.11 but stopped after. The other one has it but I do not get it as EE need to make some final tweaks as said on the update from 1st of december on EE community

hammy makes an excellent point.
What if your mast is in the last lot to be activated say, in August 2017?
Only 700 going on now.
Are you then going to complain for the next 8 months?

But as I just said, those 2 masts might not be going live until Feb, April, June or September. How do you know? No one does.

One was live on 23.11 near RG9 5LP but after it stopped broadcasting it. Before 23.11 reception was no service. On 23.11 showing 2 bars 4G800 and later no service again. Still no service

Yeah and do you know why?
As we've explained many times that's because it's been locked down ready for activation.
But, that could be anytime from now to the end of the summer.
So when EE do get the first 700 on there is no guarantee that either of your ones will come on.

Ok will see when we all get access to 4G800. I will notice it again if no service will change back to 2 bars band 20

Anyone else notice that the coverage checker page keeps changing slightly?

The accolades keep changing and a new sentence saying 4G has been added to even more places keeps appearing and then disappearing?

One thing this thread has shown to me is, if an advanced 4g network like EE is still having issues with VoLTE, so much that it's a possible cause of the 800mhz launch delay, I can't see other networks like Vodafone or O2 launching it until late 2017 or early 2018 when there 4g network is a bit more advanced in depth and coverage, unless they have some half measured approach in mind like three, calls drop too much on the move with Vodafone already due to the cornerstone & legacy networks often working as separate networks themselves much like the old orange 2g fallback on three, without adding in VoLTE issues too..

Vodafone was testing VoLTE when I visited their HQ over a year ago. They still are. That says a lot about how easy it is to get VoLTE working across multiple hardware vendors (infrastructure and handset sides).

I assume O2 is having similar issues.

Or it says a lot about Vodafone!

Perhaps, but I think VoLTE is a nightmare for everyone. It will be a big talking point at MWC next year, especially as there is going to be a lot of talk about 5G and obviously voice needs to be working over that.

I mean, the industry wouldn't make the same mistake again. Would it?
