I was told launched sites are at full power. But there are many more sites than the 700 that went live.
I don't know why they're not live too, but that's the situation we're in. Maybe another batch will go live in the new year, or they're planning to stagger the switch on to fit around other network upgrade work. I am hoping to visit EE's test centre in the new year, to see the 1GB/s trial they're doing, and also go to their Faraday cages (as I did with Vodafone in 2015) to have a look around. Maybe I'll find out more, but I have to assume that there's a well thought out plan. We must remember that there are costs and budgets, and also limited numbers of engineering staff. It may sound sensible to just go live with every site the second it's upgraded, but clearly there's a level of testing and integration and only so many hours in the day. They're still upgrading Orange sites to 4G and also optimising and upgrading existing sites to cope with congestion. All of this is ongoing and happening at the same time. Then there are VoLTE issues that many are suffering, which also needs to be looked at. As far as I can tell, nobody is worse off than they were this time last week. SOME are better off. Many WILL be better off, but have to wait a bit. It's Christmas in a week, so I think we shouldn't expect much to happen for the next few weeks. What I would like now is for the coverage checker to be improved to show 800 (or not, as the case may be). I think they're having problems with that too, but there's a big relaunch of the whole website in the pipeline so maybe it will come with that. |

My informed guess is that your site does have 800 to cover the A4074 with dodgy coverage but it's not a launch site...............

Using the map API and a list of ~33,000 postcodes I have has resulted in this very approximate 'coverage' map:
http://gdurl.com/D1F3 Only ~7000 postcodes returned a non-zero speed value for 4G 800. I have not plotted any zero values. Pale shades are low speed and darker shades are higher speed, based on the values 1-5 returned. |

![]() Nothing in Reading either ![]() Emptied my pockets and £38.62 did the trick! It's the North Huish MIP I think. Gives me signal strength 1 here so not enough. |

Or maybe the coverage checker has not been updated for the South? Edit: The EE press release specifically states Berkshire and Somerset getting 800Mhz coverage, so clearly the coverage checker has not been updated properly. |

I'm hoping the figures are actually wrong in the API as 2G is still reaching further than 4G800 at my workplace and the API says the location is 2 for 2G and also 2 for 4G800

These conversations have made me think about the distance signals are able to travel. I've Googled it but didn't get the answer.
How far does the average 800, 1800, 2100 & 2600 signals usually travel? Thanks for any replies and sorry if this has been posted previously. |

Signal level doesn't stay the same over the distance from the mast. Terrain, direction, structures, trees etc will all have an impact.
Want to check if that single mast in Devon is the one I think it is. : ) Thanks |

Not at my PC now but when I looked earlier the hot spot was at/around South Brent, if that's any use?
No worries. Only if you have time. |
