There is 4G800 in Berkshire, very little though (it's pretty well covered by 4G1800).. not sure why the postcode checker isn't showing it up. Although it is possibly is only one or two masts!

Yup, emergency cover only from the next few days onwards till jan, contractors upgrading sites also stops this week, so we won't see anything other than maybe a coverage checker update this side of new year.

The 'issue' with Scotland is that the postcodes are huge, my pseudo random postcode selection is 3 postcodes from each postcode sector, which for Scotland could cover a huge area in more rural parts, so there might be 800 out there but its not been lucky enough to be caught by one of my postcodes.

I ran it for all 27000+ postcodes in PL and TQ postcode area and there were only 267 with a non-zero 800 strength, plotted these look like this.

So those 5 that were in Devon on the map yesterday obviously now looks very rough, compared to this one which is a much truer indication of coverage.
That also applies to the rest of the country.
Unfortunately running all 1.8million postcodes through it would take an age, and certainly rendering those points would be challenging too, the browser is already is sluggish with the 7000 points plotted.

Saying that, if anyone wants a specific postcode area mapping it doesnt take too long to do.

I wrote a script in powershell to invoke a request to the API against a set of potscodes, parse each result and split out the attribute values and create a json string.

The output json from that gets dropped into a google map javascript html document which handles the creation of the dots in the right places when rendered in a browser.

So its not a one button press thing... I dont have a google map dev key (so it can only reneder locally, cannot be hosted on a site) plus I cannot share my source for the postcode data set so you'll need to provide your own.

It's about as far from my day job as it could be so I've only ever done it personally which means I can't follow standardisation or commenting rules!

Was interested to see different approaches. I put mine into a SQLite database using Python so I can use it with my GIS tools.

I'm tech dev so code logic I'm more than happy with, and while some teams in my company do have access to GIS tools I dont have licences or experience with the those programs, so I'm left finding freely available technologies to generate an output.

Yeah I thought Santa Claus had forgotten about me but He has not Today was getting 1/2 bars 4G800 inside a house where normally no service. On Friday last week no 4G800 but today very happy. Another testing mast on low power I would assume.

It is not coming form Woodcote.(I was working on Hookend lane near Checkendon) The mast must be far away in Nuffield or Nettlebed as if it was the one in Woodcote I would have picked it in the village this morning. So can not be on low power

Can't get 800 off it though. L18 will go right down to silly low dBm levels and then switch to 3G (both on that mast).

No problem, it's good to see the extent of the coverage from a stand alone mast.

I want some 800 loving here! Oh well maybe next year lol
