Balls up? Isn't everyone now able to access the 700 sites plus possibly more that are being tested?

Sure, it's the end of 2016 and at one point it was meant to be end of 2015, but no date was originally given - until last month. And it slipped by nearer two weeks, not six months!

Wouldn't say it was a balls up at all, people were just expecting too much it seems.

EE map updated today guys. Now it shows the 4G800 in my areas. EE have switched the mast which covers Woodcote now. Must have been done this week as I was there last on Friday. Wawww also mast covering RG47TR turned up with 4G800 brilliant. Mast is up on the hill and will cover a huge area. This must have a been all done this week as I wotk in the areas almost every day. Will check few more postcodes around Berkshire

Gavin needs to do another update of his map. Think the 800 figures have changed - my work mast had 2, now its on 1.

You make some good points and I have considered them carefully. After many hours of deep thought and discussion with wise elders from many realms, my conclusion is that it is a traditional EE balls up.

I wonder if that SIM got the update from the network at the time of merger? I recall feature phones getting "SIM update" which I thought reprogrammed the SIMs of Orange and TMobile so they would treat both network codes as 'home network' and not show roaming.

I think it took a few months to sort out, and eventually you had as Orange customers, "Orange" and "Orange T-Mobile" showing as the network name - WITHOUT the Roaming triangle. (Nokias). For the first few weeks it was roaming though!.

I've re-done some of the detailed postcode areas that I did before, plus others I was interested in.

DN: http://gdurl.com/ogJ6
GU: http://gdurl.com/5GpV
HP: http://gdurl.com/iFJWI
IP: http://gdurl.com/mNjr
NG: http://gdurl.com/RCJ4
RG: http://gdurl.com/ZdXW
TN: http://gdurl.com/4yxK
TQ: http://gdurl.com/Fjhk

TQ is missing the PL postcodes this time, so the site that was there on its own (A38?) has fewer points around it on the west, plus the strength values are now also ~1 unit lower than before - something it sounds like Packages has seen too.

Thanks Gavin but wonder there is no red point on the map around Woodcote or other postcodes I picked 4G800. Very odd

Woodcote is just below Ipsden, right? Looks pretty red to me!

Oh yes sorry mate missed the other map you have done. Good stuff Gavin many thanks. So it means that EE keep switching more and more 4G800 sites every week. Is that correct?

You'd assume so but not sure if the published data reflects that (it didn't last week for the South) or indeed how much delay between work being done and the data getting updated. This is the only data we have access to so while it's clearly not perfect all the time it's the only data there is, so it's this or nothing.

Last week on Friday I was in that areas but no sign of 4G800 This week on Monday noticed the difference. So some work has been done on 17/18 or early on 19 as I was in the areas after 1pm on 19th They have updated the map today so if any work done recently on 4G800 it shows on map I think. May be some delay between work done and map update but I think they want to show 4G800 in many more places

You've done TN, would you be able to do the neighbouring ME aswell?

Thanks Gavin. Sorry to be a bit behind, can you elaborate on the dots please? Is each dot a separate postcode in that area? Presumably the dots are 4G/800 projected coverage, with dark being good indoor/outdoor and light being good outdoor? Also, is this representative of what is actually live now or future projections?

Thanks again, Mark

Read from #629 and it should all make sense: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showt...8#post84913448

Thanks Gavin. The TQ one now shows Windmill Hill above Totnes as active. However I can't get on it. Nothing has changed here. Can't get on North Huish MIP either. Either they are rolling them out a bit at a time and they aren't on yet or business SIMS are not provisioned yet.

Ok, Just been told small business are provisioned so basically these down here aren't accepting connections yet.

These are visual representations of the strength data that is available through the API for each postcode that returns data in each postcode area. There is no distinction or way to identify indoor or outdoor, it's just pale to dark showing strength 1-5.
This is the data that is available now, I don't know if that is current or planned coverage, only EE do.

Gavin - Don't suppose you could map the NE postcodes for me please?

Also, 800 has changed yesterday, I noticed because I have a monitor setup to notify me of changes, and my parents' postcode went from 1 to 2, and my sister's went from 1 to 3! Still no 4G there however...

I know its not very accurate, but what 800mhz db signal should I get if the same mast is giving a 2G1800 db of -92?

You can work out the theoretical difference in free space, by plugging the relevant numbers in to an equation:-

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free-space_path_loss

However, in free space you're going to have enough signal irrespective of frequency, so it really is purely academic

It's the obstructed path that's important, and there are so many variables involved, you can't really say, other than, all else being equal, 800 MHz will be better (normally). Although 1800 MHz will penetrate buildings better through the windows etc, but worse through brick, steel and concrete

Data has definitely changed...

Previously was getting 0 4G800 in NR10 3ST now getting 1 and same for NR10 3JU

Could you redo NR Gavin?

Can you do AL post codes please? No rush though, as I'm told there's very little 800 activity (public at least) near me.
