Sorry Gavin, must be a pain for you. Can you do the HR an GL postcodes please?

I assume I need a VoLTE compatible handset on EE's approved list before I can use 800Mhz even for data?

If so that's my sim free HTC 10 out...

Hi, is there any chance that you could map NN and MK for 4G800?
Thanks!

Thank you. The sites covered make sense. On a train passing through Welham Green now and logging bands, but suspect outdoors I'll get band 3 or 7 only.

So, I have this LG G5 unbranded (from Amazon) and I wondered it it was possible to get the EE firmware onto it, so that it can use 800? I use the G5 with an EE PAYG SIM so there is no chance of 800 or 4G calling for a long time yet, but it would be interesting to know.

Not without rooting.

I wasn't aware of anyone achieving it even with root?

Thanks. Looks like the Raunds mast, as well as the main Wellingborough mast, is getting 800MHz

I can see why they've decided to L800 the main Wellingborough mast (close to the train station) as that has a nice clear view and covers quite a large area.
Surprised at the Raunds mast getting 800MHz but maybe that's to try and improve reception in Stanwick, which I know is a poor spot.

Am also surprised that the west of Northamptonshire is getting more 800MHz than the East, though maybe L18 can suffice in most areas.

L800 will make quite a big difference to indoor coverage when the power is turned up and when most people have VoLTE compatible phones

To reply to myself, I didn't see anything other than 1800 4G for the journey home (and some 2600 near Oakleigh Park and New Southgate). There's pretty much blanket coverage there, but it's good to see some 800 near Welwyn Garden City (Cole Green Lane) as that's got a fair few notspots near the QEII hospital. Somewhere for me to investigate one day.

It was possible on the G4 with root. You would thus need root on the G5 too but whether the process is exactly the same is anyone's guess.

Sorry to be a pain.. could you do AB & EH postcodes. I know Scotland is a bit weird. Just trying to figure out how up to date the "map" data actually is to reality.

Pretty sure someone said they had tried modifying the software and it didn't work. I'd snap a G5 up in a heartbeat if someone can find a way to do VoLTE on Three and/or EE for sim free.

Does anybody know if Three is planning on rolling out a lot more 800mhz than EE? I ask because the vast majority of planning app I see only have Three 800mhz and not EE.

Three needs to do it and then get more people able to use inTouch if the phone can't get native VoLTE support.

Then start refarming 3G spectrum.

Rather than asking Sharon, someone should ask Jackson.

You assume EE needs planning permission once a multi frequency mast (i.e. bands 3/7/20) is in situ.

Unless Three pull their finger out and start getting some capacity rolled out as well I can see the only contenders going forward being EE and VF.
Also they need to stop with the childish advertising. It's pathetic.
Jackson is, well, there are no words.
The 'yoof' speak on the website is appalling beyond words. I think somewhere there is a reference to kicking 'ass' or 'butt' or something.
Frankly at the moment they are a joke.
Someone needs to do something and quick!
