My TV won't let me watch Amazon Prime
Lordy Lordy

Let's get this straight out of the way. I am to technology what John Terry is to fidelity.

I have a Panasonic Internet TV and I have just taken a years Amazon Prime subscription (currently £59 instead of £79 until midnight tonight).

I went to watch the new World Tour (Clarkson et al) and it says my internet browser isn't compatible. Looks like the two options I already have there is Bing and Google (not Google Chrome). It offers me a list of acceptable browsers including Firefox and Chrome but when I select them from the list, nothing happens.

Anyone help a sad old fart get this sorted?

It's not at all clear from your post what actual device you are trying to connect to Amazon Prime to view the content on. If it is the TV then the most common way to view Prime is via an Amazon App. Most TV web browsers are somewhat limited in what they let you do from what I've seen.

Would help if you gave us the model number of the TV as their capabilities vary even between models by the same manufacturer. If the TV does not have an Amazon Prime app it may be possible to install one depending on the model and whether Panasonic offer such an app and allow you to install new apps on the TV.

If you don't have an Amazon Video app on your TV you will probably have to get a gadget like the Amazon Fire TV stick.

Thanks for this and it got me thinking. Not sure which but I think I might have the Amazon Prime App on either my blu ray player or my PS4. If I haven't, is it easier to download the app onto, say the PS$ and watch things that way.

Can't remember the model number of the Panasonic TV, I only bought it last year but I'm not anywhere near it at the moment.

Looking at the Panasonic website many of the current models have an Amazon app on board. So it's possible your TV does.

The PS4 seems to have it if this is anything to go by...

Surely a new model Panasonic smart TV will have the Amazon app, or it will be possible to download it via the Panasonic menu.

EDIT: Apparently this is not the case, only Sony, Samsung and LG.

I would just get the amazon stick and forget about any apps.
Support for apps is hit and miss. I have a blu ray player and a smart tv and the number of apps supported now is less than when I started.

Which model Panasonic TV is it? I've got a CS620 which has the Amazon Prime app.

Picking a random Panasonic telly off their website it says this..

Quote:
“Netflix & Amazon Video streaming”

http://www.panasonic.com/uk/consumer...00b.html#specs

So all may not be lost if your TV is similar.

This years and at the very least last years range of Panasonic smart TVs have Amazon Instant Video on the Apps screen.
I assume this gives access to the streaming. Not surprised the web browser doesn't though. I've not seen a decent browser on TV's yet. OK as a last resort to browse, but that's about it.

I've used the app on the PS4 - it works fine.
