One Dove (early 90's!)

Just wonder how many on here bought their one and only album? Dug it up last night and became weepy at just how good Morning Dove White was; and they never got round to finishing their second LP.

Kinda mix between the ethereal Cocteau's and the smoothness of St. Etienne. Talking of the Cocteaus - what does the beginning of this sound like? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQ2aoHnZdnU The singer's Dot Allison (formerly One Dove)

Probably be an empty thread - but I've been surprised before! Wonder if Dot's on here....

I remember the song White Love which Annie Nightingale was a big fan of on Radio 1 at the time.

Think I first heard them on John Peel's nightly show - must have been something in the MW atmospherics that made their music even more enthralling!

Radio 1 was available in FM Stereo to most of the UK by then.

I was a big fan of Dot in the 2000s, and that led me on to One Dove. I think the album being delayed by the record company for so long meant the band never got the success they warranted.

Yeah, I've still got their album on vinyl. I was going to sell it on Ebay, but I found out that it jumps on a couple of the tracks.
