He never used to bother me but he seems to have slowly turned into a windmill who snorts a lot. The heavy nose breathing drives me nuts.

I like Marlon, never had an issue with him. I can think of for more annoying characters than him.

I hate the way the producers seem to think we love the manbaby double act of Marlon and Paddy. THEY ARE NOT FUNNY!!!

He never develops. Ever.
What was funny in a guy in his twenties just seems cringey in a man in his forties. He's a great big self-involved man baby. He overdramatizes everything and makes it about him. He's just stuck in a massive rut as a character, and I don't think he'll ever change, because the show writers seem to think there's something funny and appealing about it. I got sick of him a long time ago. |

Marlon must be the nicest guy in soapland. He's never been wicked I don't think.
In fact seeing him do an evil deed would be the equivalent of seeing Santa smashing up some kids toys on Christmas eve!

I quite like him he can get a bit pano like occasionally but that's how he has been written I think, he's a good man which is rare in soap land. He's quite nice off screen too !

He is ok but he has never really developed, he stick acts like a kid and has been the same for the last 10 years.
Paddy is the same. |

Yes I know its fiction, but i suspect people have this attitude in real life too.
People dont have to like characters. It doesn't make them horrible people and I think it's insulting that you would have made such a statement |

I actually don't mind Marlon and Paddy together. It's just when they're let loose separately on the rest of the villagers that they annoy me
![]() i was just deciding if I was brave enough to post that I like Paddy and Marlon together when I read your post I like that it is a solid long lasting friendship which has seen each of them through good times and bad and although it can get silly at times its usually quite humorous

Finn is probably the nicest character in Emmerdale and he is almost universally well liked. |

Alicia was extremely popular on here and to an extent so was David until he was paired up with toxic Tracy. I wouldn't say he's loved but people don't seem to mind Dan. I think Paddy (correct me if I'm wrong) was well liked here too until he cheated on Rhona who is also quite popular |

I liked Marlon for years, I really rated him during Trishas death storyline and the relationship with Donna.
However, he's become more irritating as time has passed. As somebody else said, what is okay for a man.in his twenties might not be in his forties. The somewhat childish friendship with Paddy stopped being cute a long time ago and I also think the romance with Laurel which they tried to portray as an apic love story whete they were moral whilst Ashley a bad guy so they couldn't be bkamed for committing adultery put a lot of people off side, including me. There was also the Leo custody battle when Paddy wanted to go to New Zealand which made everybody involved, Paddy, Rhona, MarloN and Laurel seem selfish and unlikeable. Finally, many do just find the gurning and windmill arms annoying. It might seem shallow but people can't help what irritates them with mannerisms. |

True, but DS posters don't do 'nice',
There are loads of 'nice' characters I like including Finn, Dan, Diane, Ashley and Harriet. I used to like Marlon and Laurel and don't mind Rhona. I also liked John Barton and Chrissie before they turned her into a bitch. |
