5.45 start time......might as well stick it on at lunchtime!!
![]() ![]() Strictly Come Dancing has no place on the Xmas Day schedule. If they really have to put it on, then it should definitely be on before Dr Who. |

Whilst I agree that it's a shitty time to put the show on, can you blame the Beeb, they've got so many popular shows with specials that something is always going to have to have the crap spot. Let's be honest they want the best ratings they can get for that spot and unfortunately for us Strictly and Bake off and maybe CAll the midwife (though I think that may be on a bit later more due to its content) are bigger ratings grabbers. Especially GBBO which they will want brilliant ratings from this year |

And why not? I'm sure there's people who don't know why Dr Who should be on Christmas Day.

Well, it's half an hour later than last years and directly follows the penultimate GBBO on the BBC (can't remember last years lead in) so think it's not a bad slot myself...

They won't be getting that at 4:45!
I always reckon Christmas schedules are hard for them to work out because of the massive differences in times people do things on Christmas day. Like I'd say anything after 7 was safe but before that people are still eating or doing family stuff. I didn't watch any telly last year - had my dinner and my in laws and went to my sisters and got drunk at a family party til 3am.

To give you an idea of what reaction to the trailer has been like I watched the short segment on YouTube. A girl in the comments section said when she saw the Doctor's Tardis in this Christmas special segment she felt it looked childish, a metaphor she said for Moffat's era of DW. People in the comments told her "well said". I asked her why she thought this. She said she doesn't like what they did with the Tardis windows with them being white, makes it look childish unlike how it used to look in the Eccleston/Tennant era, her favourite era. Trying to restrain myself from swearing or name calling I politely told her that the Tardis seen in the Moffat era is a replica of the original 1960s one! She never responded to my comment after that...
