Remember this Gracie?

Absolutely loved this series, Lee Boardman (Jez Quigley) was in it too!!

Conner McIntyre is the best actor on Corrie by a mile, I would go as far to say the best ever, King Pat is the best character on corrie ever too simply because of the quality of the actor and faults have to be down too the script writing, I do hope that he can stay even to the extent of getting away with what he has done, I mean if the Plats can get away with hiding the body of a dead drug dealer and David with causing an accident that nearly kills his own daughter then why shouldn't Phelan get away with fleecing a few dimwits.

I think that's kind of the point.

His scene with Anna was excellent. I was genuinely fearful for her.

Exactly. Des Lennis was the only criminal last night, and he was quite rightfully paid the price for his crimes.

I think Phelan should get away with it - sailing off into the sunset playing with his millions

But first, lets kick in a few plebs - we can start with Anna Horribilis. Kick her down the street on crutches

It was a shame that Anna didn't burn to death instead of just her legs.

Phelan's little jokes about her were great.

They are doing their best to make us feel sorry for her - but it isn't working

It was glorious the way he was just telling it like it is to Anna, exposing her for the bitter and jealous woman she is. She has been wanting to ask Phelan back to her flat for months.

Oh yes that wasn't the one I thinking of lol but I remember it now that you have mentioned it

I googled a bit more and it turns out he was a nurse in Always and Everyone (A&E), a medical drama from the late 1990s / early 2000s, Jane Danson was in it too.

I bet that was the real reason she wanted to ditch knuckle dragger Kev, so she could have another crack at King Pat.

The problem is if he does stay on the soap he will quickly be emasculated as happens to anyone who hooks up with Eileen. Best to scarper now with some dignity.

Although Connor Mac|Intyre plays Phelan brillitantly, I don't see how the character can stay around much longer.

The character is emotionally dead.
Vinny isn't his mate - he's just someone he can team up with to con people. He has no friends.
He has no feelings for Eileen - she's just someone to satisfy his needs and give him somewhere comfortable to live. In fact he has no feelings for anybody.
He has no concerns about ruining people financially.
He's quite willing to blackmail.
He has no sense of family.
He has no conscience about anything, including life and death.
He's only interested in his own wellbeing and will use anyone to that end.

A few have realised just what he is, and eventually they all will.

Some of the lines he said to Anna had me chuckling. Saying he likes his 'steak well done but not my women' !

I actually thought he would be gone soon and that this plot would be finished, but you just know it's not going to happen.”

I agree.

It's not just Michael and Anna who know the truth, Todd does too.

You could very much say the same of Todd or Tracy yet they have managed to stay around.

Todd's attitude is a front and Tracy does have some feelings such as when Deirdre died and for Amy. And neither put on an act. Phelan has none and does put on an act to get what he wants. That's what will be realised by everyone.

We must separate the actor from the character. The actor is good but there are no more story lines for him accept to be taken to court and put in jail. What he and Vinny did to people was despicable. This happened to people a few years ago when they paid deposits for houses and villas in Spain. The contractors scammed them. IMO Phelan, Todd and Vinny should face the music. There should be an extradition order out on Vinny. This could make a good story I think.

Tracy is a cold blooded murderer. Phelan isn't.

I'd argue both characters are total sociopaths but the difference is Phelan is enjoyable to watch and Tracy isn't imo.
